What a load of bollox. Stage managed by a load of plastics. If they are true traditional passionate fans, why did they stop singing when the game started. Hardly heard a peep out of them for 90 minutes.

Finally some sanity on this thread.

Well said Sir!

The best version for the fans to sing to the tune of GOSBTS would be the Norman Wisdom one which could be shown on the Big Screens it is not so long with so many verses and very easy to learn:

We're the team from Brighton
Brighton by the Sea
eleven players and a crowd that'll roar them to victory
so shout you fans lets hear you roar
GOAL
Clap your hands until the're soar (clap clap)
For were going up to win the cup
its Brighton now for sure.

We're the team from Brighton
Hove by jove thats us
We'ra always fair and never swear
but now its s...t or bust (original words said hit or bust)
So shout you fans lets hear you roar
GOAL
Clap your hands until th're soar (clap clap)
for were going and up
and we'll win a cup
its Brighton now for sure.

The sight at Anfield of the scarves etc is one of the highlights of world football and who would have said that when we played them in Div II at The Goldstone in the late 50s/early 60s, pre Shankly: so anything is possible post Gus.

Spot on. This board goes to show the power of the press. Anfield makes Shrewsbury Town sound loud. Still when we have players and management turning up for some kind of happy clappy, have a photo and hug a scouser away day then what can we expect from a minority of our fans.

They sung once, really, whoopy do. Spend a game in the away end at Brighton and listen to the West stand. You will find its louder than the Kop but as the press say, neverlet the truth get in the way of a good story!

Sorry, but are you saying because they all stood up to the stage managed YNWA and 'once' in the second half sang a bit of a song, you consider them to be, as the OP put it, traditional passionate football fans?

Having the whole thing (with the words) played through the PA system gives the impression that everyone is singing. If there was a proper choral recording of SBTS, we could achieve the same effect at Withdean as Liverpool manage at Anfield.

Someone needs to commission the Brighton Festival Chorus (or somesuch) to record SBTS with a decent brass band accompaniment.

This. It's really not that special 95% of the time and actual Liverpool season ticket holders (from Liverpool) who don't view the world through red tinted spectacles, will tell you that. Granted, on big occasions and moments (Olympiakos comes to mind) it is one of the best in the country but let's not pretend it's like that for the majority of games.

I don't understand why the real words haven't been learnt by more people, it's not difficult, when you consider Brighton Aces is (relatively) long in comparison to Albion or Seagulls, and when that gets sung it's usually fairly loud.

Verse 1
Chorus (stand or fall)
All together Now
Chorus (win the cup + clapping)

That's how GOSBTS should be, IMHO like.

It is easily do able but,
The club have told us know to words on screen to this one song as 'the fans don't want it' or some shit see the thread on NSC, Clueless.
We did hand out some (250ish) SBTS sheets and around those areas it was ok but we'd need the whole NS at least to sing it pre match with the club playing the proper music.

Problem with both of those as well is there will be those few on NSC who seem to struggle through life cringing at everything and we should let them have a saturday afternoon off. (Well a little I'm sure SOMETHING will make them cringe)

As for Anfield when they sung it was very impressive but it seemed all to little to be classed amazing. Still I think back to Wrexham at home and how shit the atmos was there for us, People may be in different seats or not turn up allowing the sky lot to go therefor less than average atmos.

The Championship.

The whole song sheet shite. People tried it last season with some new songs people made up and it didn't take off. It was quite embarrassing aswell.

Huddersfield away last season people were handing out song sheets and alot of people just laughed at it. I don't want to get handed a song sheet at football, it's not a church choir.

I agree with this. Ideally would be male voices singing in a style redolent of a unit of soldiers... this would solve the problem of needing words on the screen as people would soon regard it as the norm for a Brighton fan to learn the words and belt it out.

To be clear, when I say "the words" I am talking about only the first verse and maybe "We're the men from Sussex" in addition to the well known chorus.

Should be the aim to have this ready for the start of next season. Do we have anyone on NSC with the technical experience/contacts to take the lead...?

 it was immense.

And if you read today's programme, there was heaps of praise for the Albion fans from LFC fans.

Knuckle draggers or ill informed on here ... save the vitriol for fans that slag us or our club off (Ipswich, Millwall etc).

Or your relentless drivel against certain clubs, in the face of facts (decibels).

I was massively under-whelmed by YNWA last Sunday.

Thought it would be awesome.............and it wasn't.

Just my opinion

This, I barely heard them over the PA.

Although when they sang Fields of Anfield Road when they were 3-1 up, that was incredible.
I think lots of their fans were day-trippers.
The best thing about the entire day (apart from Lualua's goal) was seeing everyone in the Kop stand up at once and hearing the rumble of the seats folding whenever they attacked down that end. *shivers*

Same thing when Gerrard got the ball during the relentless second half counter attacks. Seemed like 37,000 audibly willing him to shoot.

At Villa-Brighton 2 years ago, or other PL grounds thesedays, it comes across as much more corporate / football touristy. Last week was different & without the hatred at say the Brittania. A great atmosphere, despite for LFC, them only playing a Championship club.
