That would have to be I am the resurrection - The stone roses.

Best instrumental section ever.

Agree with Year of the Cat - quite magnificent, Slash's guitar solo's in the middle of November Rain are exquisitely beautiful but its got to be Walk On By - The Stranglers.

The shortened version of 'She's Not There' by Santana. Don't normally like fiddly guitar licks - too self-indulgent - but this is damned fine.

Worst? 'And I Love Her' by The Beatles. Sorry Johnnyboylennon, but that acoustic bit a so naff!

"instrumental bit in the middle"?

Could be wrong but I believe the phrase you're looking for is middle eight.

No worries though. Grade 12 twat Dwayne will be here to give us all a music lesson later, I'm sure. :p

. :p

Certainly sounds more impressive but I wouldn't have had a clue what it meant if someone had asked me for my favourite middle eight :dunce:

Would probably have thought it was some new midfield formation of Hoddle's to allow BZ to play as a wide player come defender:jester:

A bridge is the bit that joins verse and chorus.

The long instumental bit on a record, which usually comes before the big climatic finish, is the middle eight.

Although, I guess, the middle eight is a bridge of sorts.

I thought Albatross would have a middle forty eight.

I might add the mandolin on 'Maggie May' by Rod Stewart. Saw them on Top of the Pops back in 1971, with John Peel miming the middle eight while The Faces played football all around him, promptly followed by them bowing down at his feet. Peel felt well embarrassed, but it was funny.
