Expectations were far too high.
I'm sure that you're right but nobody (perhaps apart from the guy at The Times) thought we would be in a relegation spot with almost one-third of the season gone. Many would have settled for a mid-table season but, as we've just suffered a very poor season and escaped by a hairsbreadth on the last day - nobody wants the same thing again. That's why the feelings are so high.
