So come on then how will this manifest into disaster?

Well for a start spending cuts are never vote winners are they? And yet they're going to have to wield the axe like this country has never seen.

The NHS waiting lists that Labour have actually decreased significantly in one of their most prominent success stories over their administration will start to rocket up again as the money our healthcare system needs is take away.

Let's also not forget that Cameron and co. are going to have to work twice as hard to get anything passed as not only do they have to convince their own party members (many of whom are already disillusioned with Dave) but also their new ally Clegg's Lib Dems.

There are simply too many issues where the LD's and the Tories are too far apart for there to be a harmonious government.

This isn't just an anti Tory rant, it's a statement of concern over the fact that I can't see our country getting out of the mess it's in for a very long time

good, someone is in power, can we now shut up about the matter for another half decade or so? Labour leave with their heads held high and still with a sense of dignity, and the conservatives with a hint of liberal democrats are back in, everyone wins

plus It looks like mrs cameron is pregnant, or just went a bit over the top on celebratory pheasant.

Another plus side. I have seen many Prime Ministers since Churchill, Dave has the only Milf ever.
On an unrelated note, when Gordon went into the Palace the Guardsmen were not presenting arms, when he came out, a Rupert had appeared to encourage them. He probably wasn't happy. :lolol:

Yes there will be cuts but how else do you reduce this horrific deficit it's something like for every £4 of public spending we are raising £3 in revenue.

So with out some cuts in Public services how do you address it? Interest Rate hike? That will happen anyway but how severe? Income Tax hike or cuts in public services? Income tax hikes eventually leads to increased unemployment.

I think the coalition will seize power improve Britain and live in harmony for at least a couple of years.

Is anyone else slightly excited by HB&B's endorsement of this shambles?

Given his wonderful efforts in Brighton Pavillion, I would imagine most left of centre Seagulls are currently jumping for joy.

When the bounce happens I don't know but it will come. Just as the country dives headlong into the brown smelly gooey stuff. I don't particularly like labour but Osbourne is the Devils incompetent spawn. I had hoped for change so well done Brighton for giving us a Green (although their policies are a bit wacky ) but here we go.........

Anyway the bounce should be in approx 9 months

The deal is the Tory commitment to £6 billion of immediate public spending cuts, plus the Lib Dem give-away of a £10,000 personal tax allowance.

Don't blame me when the economy collapses.

Your (temporary) Aberdeen correspondent can tell you the Sweaties are VERY unhappy about todays events!

Not really sure if the SNP can go for Unilateral Declaration of Independance but all the jocks I have spoken to today & heard on STV tonight aren't all that keen on being ruled by Westminster (which they still are to a reasonable extent) any more. Given there is ONE Tory MP up here I guess they have a point. When I pointed out that leaving the Union would leave the English Labour Party in the sh*t none of them was the least concerned - nothing like Socialist Solidarity eh?

As you may have guessed from previous posts I am personally quite happy to watch them (and the Taffs and Ulstermen) detach themselves and run their own Banana Republics - it might even help us out of the current financial sh*t?

That really would be a big balls call from CMD but who knows, it is not as if he can really have any hope of converting the Celts to Conservatism in the next few years so why not?

What's a Dale and what's a liek? Yes Uni could be as far away as the Moon sadly!

Dale... the guy in the pink shirt that sits next of me at Albion games

I've a ten inch netbook, and i type fast, the key's are compact and making order mistakes happen son

My thing with the tories is the class discrimination. Why should the dreams of children be dictated by the income of their parents? Labour have taken steps to create a true meritocracy where the limits of a person achievement during their lives is limited only by the extent and direction of their dreams. I'd rather not go backwards under the tories.

After David said 'where I don't just ask what are my entitlements but what are my responsibilities'. 'Not what am I owed but what can I give'.

I almost wept.

Not a shambles moment Lord B, a Champagne one for Britain.

I think you've misunderstood me. I'm not saying there is a better way or that a different government would do things differently. Spending cuts CLEARLY do need to be made.

My point was that were I a Tory supporter I would certainly not be crowing about this compromise as if it's some sort of political success. It isn't.

For what it's worth I didn't want Cameron as Prime Minister but I didn't have any faith in Gordon Brown either.
