Dunno what the big deal is with the PS+ membership cost, since I've been paying that every year for Live Gold membership.
The problem is that one didn't have to pay in the past in order to play games online.

Still undecided as to Xbox One or PS4 - had been leaning towards PS4, but really not sure...
PS4 is the more powerful gaming system and it's cheaper to boot.
Thing is I'm not much of a gamer anymore, the multimedia side of things is just as important and it's an area Xbox excels at.
Does PS4 have Sky with live Sky Sports? That's a massive one for me with my Xbox360.
Yep - 3 of them arrived today! So, anyone been lucky enough to get one?
X1 came with a game worth £40, and Kinect worth a good £100 - if you want Kinect that is. PS4 is more powerful, but you'd be hard pushed to notice. Both have some advantages.PS4 is the more powerful gaming system and it's cheaper to boot.

1) There is only one game that's 1080 on the PS4 and 720 on the X1, due to the fact it released on 6 platforms. There will probably never be another game that's 1080 on one and 720 on the other,1080p vs 720p is very noticeable to anyone who wants to notice.

2) That game looks rubbish anyway, it's more about high FPS than graphics.
3) In gaming there is more to image quality than resolution (a 720, 900 or 1080p image from a game is not as good as the equivalent photo).
4) Even if you did have a high quality 1080 vs a high quality 720 (which you don't), you'd still have to sit reasonably close to a big tv to see the difference.
5) Even then, you're unlikely to care when you're gaming.

I'm going to be that guy.
Do yourselves a massive favour and skip the 'Next gen.' Buy yourself a PC and be done with closed systems on substandard hardware for laughable prices. Why pay twice for online gaming when you can pay once? Social networking? I can do that on my PC far better than on a console, if I was that way inclined. Movies and TV? PC does it all better.
It's been a long time coming, my personal return to the world of dedicated PC gaming but now that I am back where I belong, I wonder why I ever moved to a console in the first place. They are simply second rate machines with inferior exclusives to tie you to any given console.
And while I'm busy being that guy, I am deadly serious in what I say here. Modern consoles are very, very expensive gimmicks.
