Dead mate....ring xbox and have your receipt handy. They will take it of your hands for six weeks and repair it.

It means it's f***ed. The red ring of death as it's commonly known is a well known problem that you can do nothing about other than take it back to the shop you bought it from or send it off to MS for repair

A common mistake to make is that the output (as in the tv lead) has become loose where it is plugged into the 360. That produces 4 red lights as opposed to the 3 red lights if it's completely fudged. I'm already on my 3rd Xbox 360 now. The last one didn't have 3 red lights but was broke. Didn't want to pay for it so just phoned them up and told them it was flashing red (which it wasn't). They fixed it for free anyway

Mines almost 3 years old now and has had it once, can't go back now though as I've taken it to pieces so invalid warranty..

have you tried CTRL + ALT + DELETE?

if its still in warranty, you can arrange for microsoft to pick up the xbox, fix it AND deliver back free of charge..

i know from personal experience
