I posted an email from the editor of their fanzine saying any support we could give them would be more then welcome. He even said they were planning on having a few Falmer banners in their end.

Got this email back from the Wrexham fan in charge of their demo:

Hi Richie,

Thanks for your e-mail.

They'll be no petition to sign, but we'd love Brighton fans to join in with our red card protest at ten past three. (Wrexham fans will also be displaying a few pto-Falmer banners in the Wrexham side of the ground as well.)

We have produced around 5000 big red cards which will be given out FREE OF CHARGE before the game.

On one side it has printed 'GUTERMAN OUT!". On the flip side are the words to a simple little song which we hope you will enjoy singing.

At 3.10 just hold up your card and sing away.

That's it. That's all you have to do.

The players are supportive of Jimmy. They have read it and enjoyed it, some of them even paid for it.

They are surprised that we have shown so little dissent. Guterman must think we are an easy touch.

Jimmy doesn't believe for a moment that the holding up of a red card will bring about a regime change at the Racecourse. However the sight of several thousand pissed off sheepshaggers involved in a peaceful and passive show of dissent will surely prompt the interest of the press. Even David Lovett might comment on it in his Monday exclusive.

We have had some positive noises from the Brighton fans and Jimmy will be displaying a 'Pro Falmer" banner in support of their campaign for a new ground. It's a good story really. They want a new ground and we want our old one. Brighton fans will display an anti-Guterman banner for us in the away end.

There are only about 40 people involved with Jimmy. It will look a bit sad if there are only 40 of us protesting on the day.

I dont think it would hurt to give them a bit of moral support.

Cheers Fran.

Got no problem with helping out with a protest after reading that.

Thanks Richie that explains it quite well.Could be a good way of showing how we care about other clubs and then round it off with a chorus of "we want falmer". Will certainly get us more support for Falmer from the Wrexham fans,is that a Labour area ?

For months, a group of Wrexham fans have been suspicious of the actions of Wrexham chairman Mark Guterman, the same person who nearly drove our local rivals Chester City out of business a few years ago, he clearly doesn't have Wrexham football club's best interests at heart and he is a property developer from Cheshire, not a footballing chairman.

It all starting getting even more suspicious when a Wrexham fan found out information about our chairman, information about the lease of our ground, The Racecourse, he posted what he knew on a Wrexham message board called Red-Passion, Guterman seen what he had been saying, this Wrexham fan known as 'Keb Mo' on Red-Passion, Guterman got concerned about what was said, and invited him for a meeting, this being at Christmas time, the things that were said i wont go into much detail about, but everything is here

Now after even more concerns, 'Keb' and a few others, started the idea of a new, unofficial Wrexham fanzine, as if you think about it, the fans of Wrexham football club, if you don't read whats been said on message board, you are very much in the dark, so a fanzine was produced in March before Wrexhams home game against Swindon Town, i was one of the sellers, we made a fair bit of money, (£1 per copy) and all goes towards getting our chairman out, the fanzine called 'The Dismal Jimmy', the second copy of this is out for Saturdays game against Brighton and from what ive seen of it, its better than the first one, i know a few Swindon fans bought some to read on the way home and some Cardiff fans bought some when they came to Wrexham for the semi-final of the FAW Cup, and im sure some Brighton fans will do the same. The fanzine is completley pro-Wrexham and anti-Guterman.

Brighton as we all know, have troubles of there own, they want a new stadium, and im not 100% sure, but im 75% sure that Brighton and Wrexham are swapping banners on Saturday, to show we are United against our troubles, showing that we both appreciate eachothers troubles.

This week, for the first time since the fanzine was out in March, has hit the back page of the Wrexham evening leader for three consecutive days, which does please me, there will be a 'red card protest' at 3:10 on Saturday, there will be 5000 red cards given out before the game, one side saying to stand up at 3:10 and the other side with words to a song(s) that we will be singing, it shows that we are united and together, we are 100% behind Denis Smith and the players, so Brighton fans if you are reading this, at 3:10 on Saturday, look to the stand on your right and it will be more than a football match.

www.dismaljimmy.com - here you will find all the information about the dismal jimmy, mark guterman, and everything else.

We appreciate your support, any truth in us swapping banners????

Why dont we send one of them to John Prescotts offices in Hull and another to his offices in London?

Was there any luck with getting those copies signed by the team? Im sure someone mentioned it before. If not, we could try and get the team to sign them and bung them on the REMF auction.

When the f*** are the FA going to pull their fingers out and actually put down some strict guidelines about who runs their clubs.

What difference does today's latest development make?

From the Wrexham FC Official Website:-

Chairman To Buy Ground

THE FOLLOWING is a press statement released on behalf of Wrexham AFC chairman, Mr Mark Guterman:

Mark Guterman yesterday signed a legally binding agreement to complete a period of six weeks due diligence to achieve the purchase of the freehold land of the Racecourse Ground from Damens, which is wholly owned by Alex Hamilton.

Mark Guterman was an original director at the time of the purchase of the freehold of Damens. He has no financial interest in the ground or Damens as previously stated.

Mark Guterman's plans for the club are to stay at the Racecourse Ground and to build the facilities the club needs to bring in the extra income to allow it to compete into the 21st Century. It is imperative that the club develops off field income in the future. Mark Guterman is working very closely with the local authority to bring this development forward for the benefit of Wrexham AFC and the wider community.

The reasons for this agreement, which have taken an eight week period, have been a fundamental difference of direction between the freeholder and the club. While this existed the club's future would always be uncertain.

On successful completion of this agreement in the middle of June the future prospects for the club will be far more positive.

Mark Guterman would like to thank the board of directors, the manager and the fans for their patience and support during this difficult period.

Time for Albion fans to show some of the solidarity that we've been shown by other fans.

Gutterman Out

We Want Falmer

Lord Bracknell said:

I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means - seeing as the old freeholders had the stipulation that the space must be used for recreational purposes. I suspect that this means that the purchase of the ground means that the current board can do what they like with the area.

Am I being cynical? Has Archer poisoned our view and made us always assume the worst?

Anyway, I'm happy to join in their protest. Sounds like a dodgy bastard to me - just ask a Chester fan!
