Wouldn't it be great if the 2013 Brighton Marathon ended at the Amex?

It won't, but it could work. Instead of going out to the desolation of Shoreham Harbour, turn left at the bottom of Grand Avenue towards Pier. I know the idea is to keep it in the lower third of the town. Run back along York Place, Union Road then Lewes Road .

Might be a bit of a squeeze after Coldean Lane.

But imagine the incentive of finishing at a packed out stadium. Once around the pitch of course.

It's not that much of a climb. Maybe a bit after Coldean Lane!

I'm just looking forward to the flat stretch without a climb after a certain point.

Cycled to Bristol from Hammersmith a couple of years ago. Internet difficulty rating was 8/10. Pretty flat for much of the journey until the last 30 miles or so...

You could go up the 'wembley way' past the school instead of the A27, enter in the north east corner and finish in front of the west stand... pitch has medals and water on it.

At last, a like minded soul.

Friend ran the Reading half marathon and that went into town and returned to finish at the Madjeski. They had the finishing tents in the car parks outside.

That correct about the Reading Half, plus its a big race probably about the same size as the Brighton Marathon.

Wouldn't be a problem as long as there is plenty of access and room for the finishers to exit the stadium and meet up with family and friends.

Amsterdam Marathon finishes in their Olympic Stadium without any problems, plus I've heard there are unisex showers.....

Personally though, I quite like the Brighton finish along the seafront and onto Madeira Drive, I can't really see as much crowd support on the road upto the Amex

Don't know about finishing at the Amex but would be good to take in Lewes Road up to the juction with Coldean Lane. It would be much
more comunity based than running up the Road to nowhere "Shoreham basin" where there are only a handful of people watching, I am sure thousands of residents would turn out to cheer people on if the route was changed to this.
