Correct.

Ramadan won't always fall during the exam season either - it moves back roughly a week each year. So, by my dodgy maths, by 2020 is will be falling during the Easter holidays.

Oh that's ok then, so it will soon be clashing with the Mock exams then..........

10 years ago people where telling the authorities that there where problems within communities in this country, there where problems brewing across the EU as well but the people who stood up and spoke out where called every name imaginable.
Now look at the situation, things are actually getting worse and If you listen to the way some of our politicians speak today it's exactly the same as what these people where saying 10 years ago, it's too little too late.

"10 years ago", the radicals stated they would not have to fight a war in Europe, they would finally conquer from within. Our government and those that support the changes that have/are being implemented are doing exactly what is needed to help this project along. Those that are not happy with the situation are vilified, the extent to what is going on is hidden/covered up. What is going on is not only troubling our race/religion, it is troubling many other faiths as well. Faiths just as strong.

Muslims have an agenda of conquest. Don’t take my word for it. Read their book.

Interesting article in the Times about the immigrant based demographic time bomb. All sorts of problems predicted by academics as vast numbers of people arriving in Europe (mainly men) skew the female/male balance in some countries.

Doesn't really take much analysis to work out that welcoming hundreds of thousands of young men from war torn countries with different values/societal norms could be problematic.

No one told Angela though.

The non-reporting of the Cologne assaults is absolutely a story worth highlighting and debating.

The Ramadan / exam thing really is not. Utter non story, instigated by the standard pathetic full front page Daily Mail xenophobic misinformation.

As it goes I am one of those that the Mail states are 'outraged and concerned' about this (the parent of a student taking A-level exams this summer). I've had a little think about it, and have decided that whilst its a MASSIVE issue, and my boy is undoubtably being WRONGED somehow and discrimated against for being white anglo-saxon, that him needing to get up earlier to sit a couple of exams in the morning instead of the afternoon, isn't THAT big a deal.

If only more people 'reported' the effect immigration had on their personal lives rather than generalisations then those of us who don't recognise it as a problem might just understand what the problem is and how real the 'problems are.

When I've asked individuals what actual difference immigration has made on their lives then in most cases they have struggled to come up with specifc details but are very quick to say they know someone who knows someone etc or speak in general terms about jobs, housing health, education, terrorism and so on.

You will be put down as reading a right wing rag by some left wing rag reader who thinks the Mail is sensationalist but the Mirror speaks perfect sense, and vice-versa, ad infinitum.

You're not reading this thread very well are you.

No one is moving exams out of their normal end date to accommodate Islam or any other religion. There is, however, a consultative process on the dates, that happens every year. It hears from many different interest groups including faith groups. Obviously Ramadan will be the consideration put forward by moderate Islamic groups involved. However the overall window is fixed already.

The media has chosen to pick up on the Ramadan element because it sells paper, gets people switching on their tellys and radios and allows them to keep their organisations going thanks to the patronage of the permanently outraged.
The media has chosen to pick up on the ramadan element because thats why exams are being re scheduled , even the BBC says so.

It is a common tactic to rubbish a source rather than engage with the substance of a debate especially if your world view is being challenged with inconvenient facts. I usually read an article, allow for bias then cross reference with other news outlets. (And still refuse to change my mind!)
