Yes & have and got a lovely bonus too, must be about 8/9 years ago now, nice girl, very pleasing on my eye leaves shiny glittery purse on seat on a bus, very careless, Trigger picks it up, Trigger takes it home, Trigger has a good snoop, Trigger finds address, Trigger takes it to her house himself the next morning, Trigger ends up going out with said girl for a while.

Honesty pays.

Hand in a wallet/purse containing credit cards, money, driving liecence etc etc if you found one?The reason i'm asking was i lost mine and a few days later Burgess hill police phoned me to say someone handed it in.This was even harder to believe because it was 2am on a saturday night out side a kebab house.Respect to the person. It wasn't the money that bothered me but other contents.

Same thing happened to me about six years ago in Poland. Gave a seminar in one city and had to change quickly and go to another city. Put the wallet on the reception desk as I was leaving and forgot. Another man picked it up five minutes later by accident as he checked out. Unbelievably he was going to the same city 250kms away and so rang up my number from the business card in my wallet and then met my train on the other side. Not a thing was missing

Truly unbelievable

Just remember that I lost my wallet and got it back once - had just got a new phone and my mobile number was on the top of the receipt which was still stuffed in a crevice of the wallet. Bugger all cash in it but way too many cards to replace.

Got dropped back by a woman in an Audi A6 who clearly didn't need the fiver or so it had in it too :lolol:

I have experienced both sides:-

When I was about 15 doing my paper round some woman was loading her shopping into her car and put her purse on the roof. She then proceeded to drive off and the purse dropped off. I took it to the police station and never heard anything after that.

Some years later I somehow left my wallet in the green jacket pub in shoreham and got a phone the next day to say it had been found in the toilets. I assumed it had been teaken in there to be raided and dumped but it just seems it fell out of my back pocket whilst I was taking a dump :lolol: .

Anyway I think it was good Karma for my previous honesty

I seem to recall my Mum found a wallett a few years back. There was a contact tel number in it so my mum called and spoken to the lady owner.

The cheeky cow then asked my mum to drive to hers and drop it round - rather than pick it up herself!!!!!:censored:

I think my mum in a round about way ( and probably more politely - as my mum really is the Queen !!! ) told her to get her own fat arse in the car and pick it up herself.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I'd have a good look through the wallet to calculate whether they are worth the return. Ideally, i'd also find a diary of theirs from the past two years, see what they've been up to, where they work, who they are married to or divorced from, find a day their dog died and where they buried it or what they told their child about the fact the homely dog they had had a different name and slightly different face one day, the person's favourite TV themetune that are often woodily hummed in diaries, see who they voted for in the last election, espy the secret name they'd given their cheatee repeatedly used in case the missus pulled the pages back and found guilt in his daily admissions (probably a woman's name mis-spelt with the end removed, like Alan or Andre), maybe a small time he wrote his wife a lovely poem before realisiing he was just copying Milli Vanilli lyrics stored for good on the seethrough paper of his loving mind, and whether they were a Scrabble or chess champion i'd be hideously jealous of.

So, i'd look there, over about 3 months, before deciding on my action. Or investigate and calculate. Follow and invade.
