Hand in a wallet/purse containing credit cards, money, driving liecence etc etc if you found one?The reason i'm asking was i lost mine and a few days later Burgess hill police phoned me to say someone handed it in.This was even harder to believe because it was 2am on a saturday night out side a kebab house.Respect to the person. It wasn't the money that bothered me but other contents.

Yeah, I found a wallet with nearly £200 cash, plus corporate credit cards for a London merchant bank at side of the road a couple of years ago. Tried to hand it in, but local nick was shut. Had a look through it and found a business card with a name on it. Managed to trace the fella via 118-118 , called him and he stopped by my house to collect it.

Bloody hell, in Burgess Hill that must be a first. Obviously Kinky and McCarthy weren't out that night.

He tried to give me some cash which was a bit embarrasing and I declined it. After all, I was just giving him back what belonged to him in the first place. But when I got home from work the following day there was a magnum of champagne on my doorstep and a thank you card. Nice thing to do.

I'd hand it in without a second thought.

I once left a bag in a Barcelona taxi after being dropped at the airport. Bag had passports, plane tickets, video camera, both mine and Mrs' mobile phones, a couple of hundred Euros and car and house keys in it. I got a letter from the British embassy about a week later, and the cabbie had handed the lot in.

Id like to think id defo hand it in, but i cant help but wonder what i would do if i found a wallet full of cash whilst on a night out in town.

I hope id hand it it, but my Beer Brain aint like that and id probably spend the cash and hand the rest in!

I had one handed in, when I lost it in Cairns. The Police forgot to give me back my cash and I found a cheque for $20 waiting for me when I got back from my travels.

I have handed in two wallets and also found a credit card.

I have handed in a wallet when I was a kid, turned out it belonged to a German tourist...think he was a student, he sent me a couple of quid and a letter of thanks. Have also handed in 30 quid that I found on the ground in a car park, nobody claimed it so I got the lot, and a fake TAG Heuer watch I found on Princes Street in Edinburgh.

I found a wallet with about £150 cash in a phone box, the week before Christmas about 10 years ago. I spent ages tracking down the owner through a business card in the wallet. Couldn't help thinking it might belong to some poor sod who was going out to buy his kids Christmas presents. Well, the owner came to my work to pick it up. Grudgingly grunted 'thank you' and off he went.

Now whilst I gave the guy his money back because I am honest and wouldn't have enjoyed spending it wondering if some poor kiddy had got no Christmas presents, I don't think a pack of beer wouldn't have done any harm.:drink:
