No idea why people wear tops of successfull teams - surely that smacks of plastic manc glory hunting. If you're going to where foreign tops - go crazy.
I've bought a few tops from teams that i have seen and don't mind wearing them around - Northern Spirit (much better than perth glory when I was over there), Bohemians Praha, ferenvacos!!

I'm amazed at this thread. I have lots of foreign shirts and am just ordering a whole lot more.

Love my Soviet Union one with the big CCCP and the drawstring collar.

Football should be about breaking down boundries not flaunting one's bigotry.

I seem to recall a thread earlier this year where quite a few people on the board had a number of foreign shirts, so I know I'm not alone.

Wouldn't wear another English club though.

Too be honest I'm not really fussed - I don't possess any foregin national tops but I'd certainly wear a Brazil 1970 shirt out of respect for the greatest football team ever.

And I would definitely wear the shirt of any other nation before I wore the colors of another English League club.

(Having said that I do wear a lot of St Pauli stuff)

as 10cc say, not in hove
i can't see a problem with it at all, if you like the shirt, or have some connection then go ahead....but..

what does bother me more is the increasing number of people who wear england shirts all the time....just try walking through churchill square and counting the numbers. while i know not many people will agree with me on this, i see it as perhaps a little bit nationalistic, a statement to others "that i'm english" ...which i don't like at all and is unnecessary

Yes. I hope your joking you narrow minded f*** as I am half Italian, but born in England, therefore I support both, but would always back England if they play Italy. I was in Dublin supporting Italy when Ireland beat them in '94 and was sorrounded by Plastic Paddy English cheering on the oirish in Temple bar area. I was also the only person supporting Italy in the Edinburgh in Brighton when Baggio ballooned his penalty over the bar also in 94. My family are from Florence so I used to sometimes wear Fiorentina tops (Baggios home town), but they were made bankrupt by an Archer type arsehole so are now reformed and playing non league a la AFC Wimbledon.
Benny, we gave you pasta, the renaissance and the Sopranos, so unless you want a horses head in your bed, go and look up the meaning of ''omerta", capiche?

I have two:

Burkina Faso, because I was there during an African Nations Cup and I joined in with my friends cheering on 'Les Etalons'.

Iran, because it is one of my favourite countires, and I had the pleasure of cheering them on, surrounded by many west and central Asian friends of mine, against the US in the World Cup.

I think it's funny that in general the people who are most fiercely patriotic are those who moan most about the country.

I wouldn't wear another countries national shirt, but I do have a Barcelona shirt (NouCamp visit) and 2 Feyenoord shirts (used to support them).

The England kit is bloody awful, it says to me trouble. I dont know what it is about it. Its about time they did a total overhaul of the style. The reason people go round in Brazillian and Italian tops is becuase they look nice.

Here are two three examples, being honest what looks the nicest

I wouldn't wear then no but it's planned for us to fly a Confederate flag along side the Union Jack (we were their allies in the American Civil War). Won't fly a Stars and Stripes though. Strangely, here in the US it is now considered politically inncorrect to fly the Confederate flag because of it's connections to the support of slavery.

You think the UK has a PC problem ?

Utter poppycock. If said people were walking through town hitting black people and spitting at Indians then you might have a point.

To suggest that people wearing England shirts in town represent racist undertones is a rediculous thing to say. It's exactly that sort of attitiude that makes the English afraid to be proud of where they're from and what they are, for fear of being branded racist.

I went to Prague a couple of years ago and loved it there. Purchased the then current shirt with Burger 15 on the back and love it. Slightly tarnished by the fact he now plays for Pompey but it wont bother me too much.

I also love vodka.:drink: :nono:

Yeah, why not.

I wear a couple of Brazil tops (one yellow, one blue) and a sort of River Plate top.

I don't see that it is a PRIDE thing. I'm English and proud of it, and I don't think that is lessened by wearing other colours.
