hmmmmm

a couple of games ago I would've said yes , after last nights performance I would've said no , now thinking about it I'm tempted ... still a long way to go and not sure about our strength in depth

ah sod it , I'll gamble and say NO and aim for Automatic Promotion

No, I can't see us finishing lower than 6th and we are currently 8 points clear at the top. There's a lot to come from the other major contenders this season but I can't see our season derailing that badly.

No because we won't finish lower than 6th.

Just wait for the panic and the doom-mongers to re-appear as soon as we actually **gulp** LOSE a game.

Nope, I firmly believe we'll finish in the top 2 now. We've got strength in depth, we're monotonously consistant with our performances, and we've got the best manager in this divison by a country mile. There's bound to be bumps along the way of course, we're going to drop points and we're going to lose some games along the way. But there is no sign whatsoever of this team imploding or going on a run of defeats, which is what would need to happen for us to end up being caught by TWO teams. Thats never happened under Gus, and I don't see it happening any time soon either.

You can keep your Playoffs. From what I've seen, we're good enough with plenty to spare.

Stats from an earlier thread: in the last 10 years, 7 of teams at the top after 15 games have been promoted, five of those automatically. Only one with more points than we have now. I'll go with that thanks.

Clearly not. 11 points clear of 7th already, there is no way that six teams will overtake us by the end of the season.

You'd get a much closer poll if the question had been "would you take a place in the play off final if it was offered to you now?"

Like everyone else on this thread, I'm confident that we now have enough to go up automatically. It's amazing how attitudes, mine included, have changed since Sheffield Wednesday away. We were ok in that game but had you said after the game that we would be eight points clear at this stage, I would have said you were delusional.

The fact that Wednesday seem to be struggling, for me, takes away one of the contenders for automatic. At the end of the season I now think it will be two of us, Huddersfield, Southampton and possibly Peterborough if they can remain consistent enough.

Southampton away is a massive game.

There will be a blip just depends on how we cope with it but can't see us any lower than 6th. Come January think some cash will be splashed to give us a bit more strength/depth

Having read the Charlton fan's blog and the one from Paul Fletcher - two people who I assume have a much greater knowledge of football than me [I'm the bloke in the Family Stand who shouts 'Oh - GREAT pass!' and 'Go inside, Kaz!', just before he screams down the touchline and eats the defence for breakfast - that's how far my technical know-how goes] - I really feel we are going up as Champions by a country mile.

I wasn't lucky enough to be at Peterborough or Charlton, but I've seen a steady improvement each game at home this season and at times last night we looked majestic; a real pleasure to watch. The key for me seems to be the first touch on the ball - demonstrated sublimely by Caldy against Yeovil. So often in the past the initial control has been wanting; but no more. Every player seems totally comfortable whether the ball's coming from ten yards or forty. Gary Dicker's cool head last night. Greer's presence. Kish's all-round 'nous'. I can't see this falling away.

Sorry. I'll stop now.

And we'll be so much more of an attractive proposition to the the good players who are 'umming' and 'ahhing' about us.
