The big factor is Reading are at home.

I think that means Reading will be giving everything. I doubt Burnley will be. If Burnley were at home then maybe we would have the edge.

I actually think if Birmingham can get their arses into gear and beat Wigan then we have every chance of catching them.

I think there's more pressure at home.

I think it's certainly feasible that Wigan might well Draw their last 2 matches.
Away at Birmingham, who are fighting off possible relegation and at Lancashire rivals Blackburn who are chasing a last gasp Top 6 finish.
Coupled with an Albion victory at Forest, that would see us level on points with Wigan but with at least a 2 goal better goal difference.

However, I expect I am far more likely to enjoy the day/night in Nottingham with the onus less on us than it would have been had Reading drawn/lost. I'm practically consigned to missing out now which means I won't be particularly bothered if we don't make it, and if we do I'll be ecstatic. As close to a win/win as you can go in a scenario like this.

Reading, but it's a typical way for us to end a season isn't it.
It was easier to predict this would happen than any results, wouldn't be Brighton otherwise would it.

Easily Reading. At home, against a team already promoted, who are thinking merely of sinking a few beers on the open top bus parade which they no doubt have booked for the Sunday or Monday. Pride, schmide. The only thing that even slightly inspires me is that their home record isn't all that, and their supporters will get anxious very quickly if they don't score early (or we/Wigan do).

We, on the other hand, are away at a ground where we haven't historically won all that often. I don't suppose Forest's players will be all that motivated either, but then again they've underachieved all season and been flamed for it, perhaps now the pressure's off them, it might free them up a bit.

I'd take Reading's position every time.

Burnley looked on the ball yesterday but Ipswich were poor and similarly to the Southampton/Huddersfield games at Withdean I think reading will obviously want it that more in the end,which will tell.All we can do is get the points at Forest and pray but for anyone to suggest that would rather be in our position is crazy

Somehow, the fact that we're the outsiders now makes me feel like the pressure's off, and I can just sit back and enjoy a day out in one of England's finest drinking cities with a couple of thousand other Albion fans. If we don't make it, it won't be the end of the world, and if we do: it will make the day even better than it already is. Winner

It's last games of the season with so many permutations that makes the playoffs such a good thing. Looking forward to the games and the fact that we are still in with a shout right down to the wire.

Even if we lose out the fact that we are in such a great league will ease the hurt after a few days.

You're not wrong there. Imagine the absolute meltdown if we'd been in with a good chance of automatic promotion at the halfway point and not even made the playoffs.

Put aside your football loyalties for one second, and imagine you were given £100 as a free bet right now.

Would you put it on Reading and win £16.66 or put it on Brighton to win £220? Purely looking at the two matches from a football point of view, I would do the latter

points in bag for me are always the best position but then again going into last game Reading have it solely in their power to lose and we have it in ours to nick it if they slip up so I'm quietly confident the pressure is more on them than us because anything other than a win for them means they know we may get past them into 6th. Our boys should be going into this with mindset nothing to lose but a hell of a lot to gain so go for the win from the start and if we get lead, don't sit back and keep being positive. If we get ahead and early the nerves will be jangling big time at Reading and luckily for us, they are also up against a very good side, with plenty of goals in them and so until the final whistle goes they definitely cannot feel safe at any time on keeping Burnley out. Going to be roller coaster of a last day that's for sure!

If Wigan don't beat Brum then I would have us as favourites to get a playoff spot with a win at Forest. I can't see Wigan getting anything more than a point at Blackburn.

Wigan must be bricking it however.

You'd think they'd beat Birmingham easily. If they don't then I'd agree. They'd be hitting poor form at exactly the wrong time and, no matter how good that squad is, they must be shattered.
