I dated a woman called Bree who had one unbelievably good talent, so for that reason alone, I'll choose brie.

Just noticed the link - Cornish Brie exists, I'm sure there are others too so why not have your cheddar and eat brie?

Some Stiltons run Roquefort close so why not have a feast of English cheeses?

There are a number of good Bries in the UK.
Somerset....Cornish....Eden Valley....Sharpham....St Endellion.....Baron Bigod....Cenarth...Morangie....Connage Clava.....take your pick. With over 750 Farmhouse cheeses produced in the UK, why go anywhere else.

Many supermarkets try to trick people into buying Cathedral city I think by putting it everywhere in special offer although many smaller mid market brands of Cheddar taste far nicer . Maybe they earn more money from that make.

It could be that the producer has a surplus of stock, post lockdown. Their cheese is mainly at the mature/extra mature/vintage end of the market and is around 9-12 months old. They also face quite a lot of competition in that sector, so are probably keen to keep promoting their product. It is as much a push from Cathedral City as it will be from the large stores. They will be funding it, not the supermarkets.

Brie is preferable IMO, but not paying an extra 40% on top of the current price for.

However, the two are so different, I wouldn't really like to choose either/or.

I voted for Cheddar but I'm rather fond of Brie.
