Just says "These estimates represent the Urban agglomeration of Brighton, which typically includes Brighton's population in addition to adjacent suburban areas.", so we can probably assume it includes roughly the parameters I mentioned.

Otherwise known (somewhat ridiculously imho) as the Brighton & Hove Built up area, not to be confused with the Greater Brighton City Region.

I bloody love Brighton and never thought I would leave - but being here really does make you realise how much it lacks in a lot of facilities. Most people in Leeds don't even consider Guiseley as proper Leeds (it's further from the centre than Lewes is from Brighton) but we still have, for example ~8 public swimming pools within a 15 minute drive, five A&Es within a 30 minute drive, two ice rinks, numerous shopping outlets, etc.

I think Brighton just struggles so much from being constrained by the sea and the Downs - though these are obviously fantastic assets as well.
