Bobby isn't from Brighton and therefore must find the idea that palace are our arch-rivals a little confusing (some older albion fans do)
I wish him luck for the rest of his career and hope he can fulfill the potential he showed with us even if that means a move to palace.
I'd be far more likely to boo Michael Standing, who has claimed many times to be a die hard albion fan and has never joined us when we've offered him the chance

Cor blimey! Moral dilema or what ?

Guess I'd have to clap and cheer him when he came out, but spend the entire game booing him as I would ANYONE wearing a Palace shirt.

Could you imagine if Peter Ward had gone there instead of Forest

As long as Palace are in the same league as us, I'll be happy.

Couldn't have happened

The way Jim Cannon used to kick Wardy from arsehole to breakfast time, I imagine he hated Palace more than us fans :)

Cloughie took a dislike to him, so not that well. We got him back on loan in time to score the goal at Newcastle to start us on our trip to the FA Cup final

We needed the 400k, it's a familiar story down here. We also kicked John Byrne out kicking and screaming because we needed the money

You should have said,

"The way Jim Cannon used to attempt to kick Wardy from arsehole to breakfast time . . "

The only person to catch Wardy with a well aimed boot was some bastard at Elm Park. It's the only time I've seen our record goalscorer being treated by Yax for some minutes. Whizz was up on his feet and, five minutes later, he was putting the ball in the back of the net. On the dizzy run on his way to goal, he had shown the ball to the offender twice and taken it past him. As we Albion fans celebrated, Wardy stood in front of the Reading player grinning from ear to ear.

Cannon did catch Steve Piper, however, in that infamous cup replay at Stamford Bridge. He went right over the top on Pipes, and Steve never recovered properly from the damage the Palace bastard caused. It shortened his career by a good three seasons.
