I think that it is a great idea but the problem as I see it is that peoples ideals and standards of a meal differ greatly and some on here are above themselves as to what is good and what is not

Indeed.

But let's be clear - we'll not be pitching for Michelin starred food. Rather the food should be a decent sized portion of a quality that most people should consider is reasonable for what has been paid.

But, also, the food is not what the evening will be all about. General fun and mirth should be the theme of the evening, with the food trying to ensure not too many people are falling over by the end of the night.

Can there be another one of those quiz nights that were held a couple of months ago? I would have so liked to have gone to that but have been at uni instead. If we could combine the best parts of a meal night with the competitive aspect of a quiz then I would literally be prepared to pay anything up to 40 pounds to attend. Well when I say "we"...

And when I say £40...

Yeah - I like the idea of a quiz...........kind of adds a competitive edge
and something to break the ice a bit.

That's EXACTLY what I understand by the "£30 give or take" pricepoint

I'm not sure I mentioned a quiz - I'd certainly not considered one. But it is an EXCELLENT idea. Keep it short and sweet, answers that can't be Googled and prizes for the winners.

You could maybe do a NSC 'who am I' style quiz?

Here's a picture for those that didn't attend the last one, we had a wonderful time.

(Sorry Bozza, sounds like a good idea, as long as we don't have to reveal our NSC identities of course!)

A quiz would be great, if you want some general knowledge/history questions I could do some

Ok, I'll start:

Q1: Who's going to take all the flak because something goes ever so slightly wrong for an individual on the night and they clearly can't be expected to wo/man up to deal with it?

a) Barber
b) Bozza
c) Burke
d) Bloom
e) Some other guy whose name starts with a "B" (Oh God, my first name does :nono:)

I'm definitely "in". Whoever ends up organising this (early bets make Bozza odds-on) will have a difficult enough time sorting a venue, date, attendance lists to give to the venue for food, etc. etc. that I'm sure they could do without grief from people whose only contribution will be to drop a little cash, turn up and have a good time.

How about at The Amex? They might even do chips for us?

Hmmmm. Not a bad idea! Everyone knows where it is, easy parking and some of our cash goes to the club. I can see that some may not want to do the AMEX, but it's got to be worth consideration, shirley?
