OK lots of noises suggesting CMS is going :( (has been for some time as we know)

Also (originally a twitter rumours account) that Beckford may be joining...

Also the Murray rumour which we've all heard.

My question is - Would you be happy with CMS out, Beckford & Murray in IF it happened?

I'd feel torn as I love CMS and really think he can be a hit but wouldn't mind players like Beckford or Murray in...

I'd like to see Murray and CMS but I wouldn't chuck my season ticket card on the pitch and storm off if CMS went and Beckford and Murray came in.

In rehab
Beckford does like his red cards though. He should fit in well here then.

Love them both, but I'm more worried about Barnes going than CMS...does that make me a bad fan?

I would not be hugely excited by Beckford as a big money signing (which he would be).
I would take Murray back if the deal was right.

I think either one would probably do better than CMS, so I suppose I have to say yes.

Really don't understand the appeal with Beckford. Not a hugley impressive goal scording record at this level, would be on big money and seems to have a right attitude. Not for me ta.

Only 9 goals in the Championship last season for Beckford. Is he the final piece of the jigsaw sex wee striker people have been talking about?

Would be gutted to see CMS go. Such a great attitude and work rate, not many footballers like that these days. Remember the guy joined us over bigger clubs paying bigger wages.

But, Beckford and Murray are decent strikers which would burden the pain.

Beckford is currently on £30kpw.

I suspect CMS is on something like £12kpw.

If one goes and the other comes in there is a big gap to bridge.

Although rumours are that Leeds have offered £15kpw to Beckford so maybe we wouldn't need to go much higher?

Beckford who got NINE goals in this division in a team worth millions, hasnt performed above div 1 and gets paid 28k a week? I'd rather keep CMS thanks.

That would be my dream partnership for this season. If they could both put last season behind them, and play in a side that play to their strengths, then they could abuse defenses for fun this season.

with Barnes flitting in between them?

I'd be happy.

I, like you, have an awful lot of time for CMS. He seems like a genuine bloke and in terms of workrate on a football pitch i've never seen anthing like it. For this reason he will always be a fans favourite wherever he goes. Unfortunately for him I just dont think that technically he is up to the style of football Gus wants us to play.

At Peterborough the ball was moved forward quickly and constantly giving him the perfect opportunity to play on the shoulder and get himself chance after chance. I think he is the sort of player who wont survive at this level on just the odd chance which is what we were giving him last season. The last minute chance at home to Burnley always springs to mind when talking about CMS. A composed, techniaclly superior striker would have brought the ball down and scored, rewarding the team & fans with one of the most famous points in recent history.

Also the way we play requires our 'main' striker to almost be more of a creator than a scorer. Unfortunately Craig doesn't have the touch, awareness or presence to hold the ball up and bring the likes of Buckley, Kaz, Crofts and most importantly Vicente into play in the final third.. I think this is why, especially on the limited goalscoring chances he gets, CMS will never truly prosper in the Poyet style of play.
