Yes definitely. I still think we have enough for 6th or 7th which I'd be happy with.

I'd be ok with 8th but below that I'd be slightly disappointed tbh. Not from an entitled viewpoint, more that we'd not be achieving our potential which I think is 6-7th.

Like many, mid table is still great. A run in the Europa and FA too is what I wanted - we’ve done / doing both of those. Happy with it. We’re weaker this year in midfield and have had horrific injury issues.

Yep, completely agree. I'd love to be higher but given what we've faced this season being 9th is a minor miracle.
Also, whisper it quietly but if we do lose RDZ at the end of the season I don't think it will be the end of the world for a new manager to have a season without European football to settle in next season although I'm sure we should be aiming for a European spot.

It’d be a shame not to be able to follow a season in Europe with another season in Europe, but anything top ten is ok.

Disappointed in the sense I feel we were capable of more had we not had such bad luck with injuries. That said, if we get all the players back fit and in form I think next season will be great; I do not think we will sell any key players and the current team will have a season of experience playing together under their belts.

Yeh I personally aren’t bothered about Europe next season too. Happy for it to happen again in a few seasons time if that were the case. So many games and rotations.

Progress will never be linear and those expecting it to be will end up disappointed. Our squad is significantly weaker than last year, owing to sales and long term injuries, plus opposition managers willing to do the homework have found effective ways to stop us in our tracks.

‘Mid-table’ is a fair representation of what we are this season.

Funnily enough I am not that worried about losing RDZ as I used to be. I don’t want him to go but don’t view it as a disaster if he does get poached which presumably will happen sooner or later. The two known vacancies of Liverpool and Barca would be tempting to any manager if only to have them on their CV. So yes, 9th and a cup run or two would represent steady progress. More importantly it would be sustainable progress which I feel is the aim.

We sold our engine room, 2 of the best CMs in the league, and didn't replace them with anything like the same quality.

Well I’m not sure we have got 10p we didn’t deserve. Can hardly think of any at the moment. Those players we have had available have done a great job, just think they deserve some more points than they’ve got.

Personally think top 6 maybe was a one off. Bloom will never keep a side together long enough to achieve that ultimate consistency. If we had added Pedro’s 20 goals to last seasons squad we would be achieving on Villa levels.

Not convinced we’ll even make the top 10 but if we carry on like we have been over the last season and a half any disappointment will be short lived and probably follow a cruel defeat like yesterday.

I am living the dream following this club at the moment and I was willing us to keep going for the winner yesterday rather than try and shut up shop, even though it came back to bite us
