£90m would be an extraordinary figure, and undoubtedly be excellent business

However the question posed in the OP is ‘would YOU sell him for £90m?’

Well personally it’s a no. I like watching Mitoma play football for Brighton. I’m not getting any of the £90m. So personally turning it down suits me better.
This

can't argue it's not good business, but he's the most exciting player we've had since knocky.
And a much better professional.

We won't buy a better replacement.

I'm clinging to the fact that he wants to play at a higher level

I’m inclined to agree, whilst asset stripping and building a HUGE bank balance is a fun Sunday afternoon activity… it does run the risk of an away game at Fratton Park rather too closely for comfort.

As an aside, Mitoma is my sons absolute favourite player, when he heard he might be off he burst into tears… bought back how I felt the day Kurt Nogan upped sticks for Burnley … no, I’m still not over it.

Football really sucks sometimes.

Indeed, I’m all out of trust - especially when it comes to the process.

Don’t worry.

We might go down the year they come up and so we won’t have to play them.

I have the feeling that Mitoma will stay for a while. I don't think (purely on instinct, based on career decisions and interviews, nothing more) that he is as shallow and money driven as many other footballers/people. If he goes it will be for the footballing opportunities, not money. He seems like a very decent man. I really don't think he'd want to go anywhere near f*cking Saudi.

Really hope he stays but £90m is just daft money. No idea where his head is at obviously but would sense he’s perhaps less likely to want this than many other players perhaps. Smart move by the Saudis though potentially - instantly hugely increases the interest in their mickey mouse league in Japan.

If you accept the premise that he is going to go at some point relatively soon then it might as well be for the most money possible. If he's indicated he's willing to sign a new contract then keep him.

I don't. If he wants to, fair enough, but he could stay long term and help get the club to where we want it to be.

An Argus source in Japan believes Mitoma would have no interest in such a move.
The source added: "He loves Brighton, which is very important. and, if he moves anywhere, it would be to a club who can play for Champions League, I think."

Looks like he is staying? Fair play for turning down the money by club and player if that’s the case. A rare moment of not cashing in by either.

Isn't it strange, from by the poll (currently 55% yes) and some comments on here, there may be some disappointed Albion fans if that turns out to be the case.
