With the level of players and manager we have all we can hope for is a bottom 6 finish. So in that sense yes it is a success, but we can do better with some investment.

And would you be happy with it?
It’s a tough one for me. At some point you have to try and push on, but all the time you stay in the Premier League, regardless of performances and results, you become more financially stable and more established, which should in theory help you move up in the long run.
But is just missing out on relegation in year 3 enough? I guess I’d begrudgingly accept it if you offered it to me now, but it would make for another unenjoyable season, and we are supposed to enjoy going to watch football, otherwise we wouldn’t spend thousands of pounds doing it every year.
Discuss.
The issue for me isn’t finishing 17th it’s the total deterioration of our football that has put us in this position. We’ve played pretty poorly all season but we had some spirit and could grind out resultsAnd would you be happy with it?

You are an idiot if you say no. We won't break into the top 6. So, therefore, the goal is 17th+
Yes. Our transfer spend and wage bill are both 19th out of 20 therefore 17th is punching.
We were saved yesterday by Mike Dean not giving a clear penalty and will probably be saved next week by Palace. If that doesn’t sum up our season, I don’t know what does
No, but they won't.Am I the only person that thinks Palace are going to roll over for Cardiff?
I know some people think the problem is Chris Hughton but that is playing the blame game because people want simple answers.
Last season we had the 19th lowest wage bill and 19th lowest transfer fee amortisation cost. This year I suspect we may sneak up to 18th and be above Cardiff and Huddersfield (Wolves and Fulham have spent money with vastly differing consequences), and I don't think the football played by either of those clubs has been entertaining either.
There's a fair chance we may stay up on goal difference, and in the eyes of Tony Bloom, Paul Barber and Chris Hughton that will vindicate the cautious playing style as it has stopped us conceding as many goals as Cardiff and will be worth £100 million next season if we are still in the Premier League.

Thank you.

I suspect the figures for this season will be different, we had quite a bumper transfer window last summer.
17th wouldn't be a success, but I'd settle for it as it will help us to build towards security.
Our 2nd half performance yesterday show exactly what we are capable of. If we perform like that in August then we could hope for a higher finish. A few extra wins would move us up the table drastically.
Our transfer spend is much higher than 19th. We’ve spent more than Palace, Newcastle, Burnley, Huddersfield, Southampton and Cardiff.
Wrong
