I heard southend away was the most arrests ever made upto that date at a football game over 170 arrests. stabbings over 20 ? Retribution for a game earlier in the season i was told but ive looked on internet and not found anything.

Southend hate us. I know. I live here.

Euston on the way up that day was pretty lively too...A big group of us were waiting in the center of the station, then Millwall turned up as they were heading north as well. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife as they clocked us, then low and behold, just as I thought we were gonna get rolled over...Palace turned up on there way to Blackburn or somewhere - They were promptly run down the platform on to there train!!

Also, does anybody remember the ' You ate all the pies' chant at the fat steward that day? Hilarious as he danced along to the chant!

I thought it was west ham and palace ?

Ah yes..someone mentioned it....canvey island. Made west ham look like girlies in tutus. That was a horrible day out. Homicidal maniacs...remember the bus stop to take us back to the park and ride where the bt engineer working on the green box has all these thugs ransack his tools and started throwing screwdrivers and stuff at the busses.

Maes me shudder just thinking about it!

Bury away two years running we filled our coach the second time by taking 10 from the Bosun made a very interesting day out. it was a bit like this:wrong:

Is this the game when mobs of Bolton, Man City and Man U were at the game as there were no Div 1 games that weekend, they were fighting among themselves. After the game the Bosun lost their way to the coach and had to ask a couple of Bury kids the way to the coach park. They proceeded to walk the Bosun down back streets and allyways and thinking all the time its a set up but managed to get back to the coach in one piece.

Also the twenty five lads from Mid Sussex man city helped the Brighton against Man Utd then Bolton started next,it felt like Custers last stand but the Indians didn't win:lolol: the Bury lads thought it was brave of brighton to go straight into the Home end. The lad who was involved with the dustbin incident at Southend head butted a brick which was in the hand of united fan. It felt like Yorks drift and they saluted us afterwards. I believe the previous year Bolton lads were leading the Albion fans around the streets who went via the seagull special train !that was the day a broke my leg playing football to end my football career.

Sunderland away the year we got promoted from Div 2 was pretty scary but the police for their part did well and dragged a few Rokerites over the wall face down through the hard standing area around the pitch, which certainly didnt improve their looks.

Haha yeah canvey island by no means the worst but was it a gate post :lolol:

Canvey was just the sheer surprise element. There's only one way in and out and it just sounds such a sleepy haven...until you get there and realise its rammed with West Ham mentalists and inbreds.

*shudder*

First trip up was 75/76 on special train brighton hooked up with bolton that day,the following season was the international day when lots of man u,man city scarves were in the crowd and the 30 on the mid sussex coach(inlcuding 10 bosun)walked straight into the home end and settled at the back of the stand:facepalm:

Southend for me in recent years. Not an especially big rivalry amongst the normal fans but for the lads on both sides there is some serious hatred. Remember being there in summer 2008 and there was fighting going on between the younger sets until well past midnight.

Leicester away when we won in League Cup, Stuart Munday wonder goal, I think Jimmy Case, saying he was deaf and getting sent off? Leicester "fans" throwing bricks at the coach.

Definitely Millwall...one of their 'chaps' was a rather large gentleman known as 'Tiny'. He passed away a few years back from cancer and is still somewhat of a terrace legend up there.

The last league game at Roots hall included a right scrap on the seafront...the protagonists weren't kids though.

the first Le Harve match - don't recall any major bother, although I was in a bar on my own minding my own business when there was a bit of handbags, literally as not only was it two blokes but two women as well got involved! it spilled onto the street and the bar owner was brawling with one lad, and a plastic chair was thrown but that was about it, the gendo...geonedom....jeandomm.......French old bill turned up and gave all four inc the woman a bit of a good hiding while throwing them into the van. Considering how much most of us drunk that weekend it was relatively trouble free
night club on the boat ring a bell ???
regards
