If we're not including past pundits (Ron Atkinson)then Townsend all day long for his un-endingly tedious manner. The real answer though is any pundit who is chosen because he used to play for one of the two sides involved and then goes on to display brazen bias towards that side.

I agree that Ron had to go for his uncharacteristic yet unforgiveable racist outburst, but up until that point he was THE DADDY of punditry with some incredible terminology the like of which we haven't seen since. A brief flavour:

Early Doors, Spotter's Badge, Full Gun, Little Eyebrows, Back Stick, Lollipop, Crowd Scene, Going Down By Instalments, Tell You What Clive

Quite a difficult choice given that they are all tossers, but I'm going for 'other' and Mark Bright because he has the added ingredient of being a palace tosser.

Agree totally about Crooks and Bright especially the former.

He has to be worst ever in the history of my football watching!

You'd put your mortgage on the big man.

He's treading on dangerous water there...

Chelsea look like they've got a couple more gears left in the locker.

Got to be Gobby Savage, he was an absolute c##t as a player and he's a c##t as a pundit.

Anyone on ITV gave up long ago, now just tune in at the start of the game and mute sound, and then cross fingers that they dont miss a goal.

Micheal Owen for me. His boring monotone voice is really dreadful. Grateful that I dont have BT Sport, having him summerising would sent you to sleep.
Of the others, Mark Bright is dire, and Savage is so full of s*** his eyes are brown.

I never have any problems understanding Jamie Carragher. Don't always agree with him, but he usually has something interesting to say.

Not a fan of any of Savage, Townsend, Carlisle or Redknapp. On reflection though, Savage is the most annoying and consistently the least intelligible, so he gets my vote.

No problem understanding Carragher either, I've heard much stronger scouse accents, don't mind his input either. Savage is very annoying though. Clark Carlisle might be quite articulate, but doesn't seem to add much of note.

Clark Carlisle was truly dreadful for our match v Hull. Never seen him before or since, but based on that performance alone I've voted for him. Don't mind the others really.

Every single one who has never tried his had at football management. Much as I dislike Lawro as a pundit and Roy Keane as a human being, at least they did give it a shot. Smug Hansen and tedious Townsend never so much as tried. And we are expected to take note of their tactical brilliance?

So many pundits annoy me, throwing out pointless, lazy clichés, some seeming bedded in and not trying any more, making their minds up independent of, and often despite, evidence, their "players are never wrong, must be the ref's fault" bias, their frequent complete ignorance of the laws of the game, and the nonsense "if you've never played..." dismissal of any contrary argument.

I think Jamie Redknapp is less offensive than most, while still not providing much insight of any depth, but Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville are ones who, at the moment, seem to be making an effort to contribute, to be informative and more in tune with the modern game and the current laws.

Garth Crooks for me. Something about the way he talks makes my skin crawl.

Otherwise would have gone for Michael Owen for his attempts to single handedly bring BT Sports to its knees.

Carragher is fine in my book, not afraid to speak his mind a gives a players view which is sometimes refreshing, not sure whether it's just me or not but Steve Claridge drives me insane,I literally cannot listen to brainless **** talking absolute nonsense about football, how this man has ever got a job on T.V is beyond me.Really surprised his name wasn't on the original list.
