Worst TV "comedy" ever?

The Green Green Grass.

Unspeakably awful.

Spin-offs from successful comedies generally are. The only one which springs to mind to buck that trend is Frasier.

I'm sure there must be others.

Including 'Friends' in this is ridiculous. You might not personally like it, the characters can grate a bit. But its one of the most sharply written comedies on the box, and wouldn't have survived umpteen series if it wasn't.

My immediate reaction was Citizen Khan. Utter, utter dreck, but ticks all the "inclusive" PC boxes the BBC love, so it'll keep getting commissioned regardless of the fact its about as funny as a brain tumour.

Mrs Browns Boys is just embarrassing. I'm glad to see it attracts the bile on here it so richly deserves.

I developed quite a dislike for The Thin Blue Line as well. Its not *terrible* on a Khan-type level obviously, but I think it just saddened me to see such a fine comedy actor as Rowan Atkinson starring in something so bang average.

Another vote for Miranda. Can't see why the popularity for it. All the 'highlights' shown to advertise the next instalment seem to show her falling over in 'amusing' ways. There are some people that do comedy falls that are just incredibly good - this, i'm afraid, isn't one of them.

The sing-a-long at the end is just cringeworthy - must have been taken from a US idea...

Miranda. It wouldn't look out of place on CBBC.

All down to opinion. When you compare cr@p like that to the level of comedy at the M*A*S*H standard it becomes embarrassing.

Surprised no-one's mentioned the former bete-noir of NSC - 'Life of Riley' with Caroline Quentin.

This is the easiest question ever posed on NSC and the answer is Mrs Brown's Boys.

There also should be mentions for Miranda, Shameless & 2 Pints Of Lager And Packet Of Crisps, all of which are utter shite...

Albion & England forever.

But Miranda was hilarious. There was that time she broke the fourth wall, then that time she fell over and don't forget that time she fell over then broke the fourth wall, oh how we didn't laugh.

I think your comment made me laugh more than all the Mirandas that I was unfortunate enough to have seen put together!

I'm not sure Last of the Summer WIne has had a mention. Surely that has to be on a list of terrible sitcoms.

Correct. The most formulaic "comedy" routine since Lenny Henry and his "inane grin and shout pointlessly" rubbish.

The only thing about Miranda is that some women seem to find her funny. Lord knows why. ???

I feel I have to defend LOTSW, if only from a sentimental view point - not laugh out loud, but reminds me of my childhood!
