Come on everyone, it's bloody Peacehaven/Telscombe Cliffs, by some distance. A cruel experiment that wrecked the coastline forever and created the most unattractive sterile shambles of a development we're ever likely to witness in Sussex.

There appear to be folk who fail to recognise Portslade as a town,which it was,though I accept it has been sucked into the Great Metropolis.

But it must qualify as a town in its own right,having its own railway station,its shabby chic cosmopolitanism,a rec.,historical links to royalty(The Vic),and access to the Albion's new stadium at Aldrington basin.......eh?Oh,sorry they're building it somewhere else?

Now if were talking the worst Village in Sussex? then Lancing is right up there.

Big enough to be a town and has it's own suberb.

Ditchling is ok - used to play soccer for them - hassocks is very inbred - why do you think i live there?

I used to play Rugby for Ditchling, but then again most of the players were from .... Hayward Heath, bugs Hole and Hassocks.
Ditchling might look pretty but it's inhabited by 'arseholes.

but there isnt any thing to do there at least BH and Crawley have cinemas clubs etc.

Crawley has to win it for sheer ugliness - Broadfield and Bewbush especially, but at least it has a good theatre and leisure facilities, which you can use and then go without having to live in the place.

Peacehaven proves that you do need a decent planning system, to let decent buildings get built and stop crap being stuck up.

I'm surprised, however, that no-one has mentioned the east end of Eastbourne. Town centre is okay, nothing special, Meads, especially around the cricket ground at the Saffrons and Eastbourne College and the seafront very pleasant, but the whole Langney area looks like it has just been whipped up with prefabs and dumped in Shinewater Marsh, and then been cut off by the new A22 road.

Voroshilov, there's nothing much wrong about my local town (EG), apart from the fact that it's full of Palace, has a crap rail service, is full of traffic (must be the worst traffic blackspot in the South East of England) and it has two nightclubs that attract all the chavs of Surrey.

Possibly depends how old are you - being 18, i don't have a problem with the witch, other than the fact they've converted it into a restaraunt.

The Red Lion isn't bad either, but personally I see the StandUp being a bit of an 'old mans pub', so tend to stay clear, although it's probably quite good

There are a lot of ASBOs. Which is strange because generally you can walk the streets at night without fear of attack. Which can't be said for quite a few towns! (must be down to tougher magistrates?)

How can people say haywards heath is a shithole?!? i was brought up on the lindfield/haywards heath border til i moved away 4 years ago to uni, the place is full of wankers imo and i'd never move back there but its quite a leafy town apart from south road and around the station!
If you wanna see a shithole visit most small towns in lancashire!!

Crawley gets my vote for sussex.

I think im just comparing it to towns i've been around where i am now, which make haywards heath look like heaven in comparison.
