Meopham, Kent.
There are just so many under the reign of Graham Taylor, but for me it has to be the selection of Andy Gray (Palace).

Having never made a squad before, Graham suddenly called him up for the crucial final qualifying game in Poland. Straight into the starting line-up to play alongside Geoff Thomas :)nono: ). By half-time it was apparent that it was a huge mistake, even to Mr Taylor. He was subbed and never called into another squad.

Graham Taylor, what a truly dreadful England manager.

In London village.
Carlton Palmer deserves a special mention for his outstanding Sweden 1992 quote "we're not here to entertain" - too F***ing right in his case.

Sweden also gets a prize for worst substitution of all time - Alan "big nose" Smith on for Gary "one goal short of England record" Lineker.

Rubbish !!

Redland - I'm having a bad morning, and I wasn't thinking straight! You're right! To nominate Heskey as the worst England player ever is a gross injustice. I do think he's struggling at the moment, but he was in that team in Munich (2 years ago yesterday!), and scored.

My apologies, I'll stop and think before I post in future!

Anyone for Bobby Charlton

Steve Foster. Quote from Jack Charlton - "He's the worst player ever to pull on an England shirt"

I'd forgotten about Brian Deane. How did that ever happen?

Steve Foster didn't really excel, to be brutally honest.

And Barry Venison :lolol:

Didn't Warren Barton hang around the fringes of the England squad at some point too?

Dennis Wise.
