At the risk of being controversial, who cares !

What’s more important is that we strengthen the team , particularly another attacking midfielder and someone with pace up front to help Maupay.

I personally couldn’t care less about whose the worst player in another team .

Just my opinion .

Players like Luiz and Benteke are easy targets but I suspect they both have good games. Luiz certainly does, it's just that when he is bad he is truly awful.
I think Joelinton's lack of goals probably masks his workrate, so not him for me.
Macguire hasn't been good value has he? £86m? Christ.
Dominic Solanke has been as shit as ever until the Leicester home game.

I'd go for Trezeguet at Villa. He is toilet.

That's fair enough. But on that basis NSC would consist of one thread, called "Who should we buy to strengthen the team?"

Trezeguet scored both goals in their win last week, that could go a long way to keeping them up. If that is literally the only contribution he makes all season, he'll have proven a worthwhile signing.

Bit unfair, I guess, that I'm not prepared to give Solanke the same credit, but tough - he really is, and always has been, shit.

I think he scored recently but Dominic Solanke has to be one of the worst this year.

This is a great shout. I was thinking this watching the Bournemouth Saints game on Sunday. For a £19m signing, he just never looks even capable of getting s shot away, let alone scoring a goal. In 75 games he's scored 10 goals. In the Prem, he's played 50 games and scored 3. At least with Benteke, you know he can do it. He is a threat in the air, can give the occasional assist, score the odd goal and is a bit of a nuisance. He's awful, sure but Solanke? So-wanky, more like it.

Jesse Lingard. No goals, no assists in 20 PL matches. Should be approaching his footballing peak years but appears to be going backwards. Looked half decent at the World Cup but now seems to be getting frozen out at Man Utd since they signed Fernandes.

Many might have been dissuaded of this view by his utter thunderbolt last week, but I've always thought Vestergaard is toilet and, as no-one's mentioned him, I will.

Gaetan Bong, which is why he now watches Nottingham Forest rather than us.

I think Dominic Solanke and Jordon Ibe both deserve a mention, they're rubbish. But the real winner has already been mentioned, Jesse Lingard is absolutely pathetic.

You will get no argument on this from ANYBODY* in the Southampton area.

*except possibly my wife, but only because she thinks he's fit.

Last close season a Saints friend of mine said it is difficult to have much faith in a centre half who has the turning circle of a supertanker. There are always gasps of despair in our household (from Mrs DiS) when his name appears on the team sheet.

The worst player I saw against us this season was DANNY DRINKWATER. Taken off before he was red carded, he did absolutely nothing right and had the pace of an articulated lorry. We should have buried Villa twice.

GRANT HANLEY wins the "He will be in league 2 in 2 years award" for being laughably bad in a game I saw on sky where we appeared to be plonked on his arse at every turn.

NECO WILLIAMS wins the most over-hyped Liverpool player who was actually totally shit award and will never make the first team ever again. He will have Hanley alongside him at CB

JOE LINTON wins the "Is this what £ Insert figure here gets you nowadays award" The fact Locadia went to replace him says it all.

Maguire gets a hard time though. He might not be World Class but he has improved Man United's defence since he's been there.
