Just wanted to express my disappointment that the Moderators (bozza I believe) has banned Vulture for two weeks.
Overall, I think the Moderators do a good job............unpaid of course..........and generally apply their power reasonably fair-handedly.
However, there does appear to me to be double standards, and not least, I question their reasons for banning SOME posters, and not others.........(notably Hove Born And Bred.........he,s the arrogant **** who has just been made redundant. I,m sure all of us dont wish the loss of a job on anyone.........but if it had to be someone, it couldn,t happen to a more deserving person. No doubt , like all pieces of shit, he,ll survive in some form or other, and come back on this board gloating, and calling all others "chavs", looking down from his pedestal, with all the clique of NSC telling us what a fine fellow Timmy is etc etc........LOL).
Anyway, ...I digress.Back to the subject of Vulture. Personally, if a poster is provoked, I see little problem in calling the "provokee" a ****, arse, wanker etc etc etc.On the last two times Vulture has been banned, it appears to me, that the "provokee" has got away scot-free.
There is little point in e-mailing a moderator of your concerns, as the last time this was requested of me, ( by Bozza) he didn,t even have the curtesy to reply..........even though it was HIS request that I did so. Neither were my concerns addressed in ANY fashion whatsoever.
Do the Moderators feel abuse to another poster..........(and I seriously question the word "unwarranted" as was used in the last banning for Vulture) is worse than for example , the continual jumping on BHadeb everytime she makes a posting....(someone that, although I do not entirely agree with her postings, does have my sympathy and shares some of my misgivings about Dick Knight..........Oh God.......that,s sacrilege on here to say that isn,t it..?...LOL). Even BOF, that most mild-mannered of posters is almost spitting blood the minute she posts...! There are a few other posters who fall into her category as well..............but the sly bullying that goes on is OK it seems with the mods.Downloaded Penguin.......( not my cup of tea mind) is usually pilloried the moment he puts something on the Board........and in particular by one of the Moderators.................but that seems OK.
Obviously, internet sly bullying is one thing, I detest. It shows a weekness in those doing it, and causes great distress. Compared to someone, who is called a ****/wanker/arse in the heat of the moment, I feel sly bullying is much worse.
Yet another thread today, concerned the gruesome and horrific news of some poor young lad/man, 18 years of age, who was stabbed and the beheaded on a bus in Canada, less than 24 hours ago. Incredulously, so many posters, on this glorious board, chose to make truly pathetic jokes and statements. Among those, I,m so sorry to see, was the ever popular and illustrious Easy 10. Astonishing, that he could be so glib, when I believe he has a young son ..(9/10 ...?) himself. Does he think his son will never reach 18...? ......and yet, he has the audacity, to go on the thread about the poor lad who was hit by a car in Chalky Road today and be sympathetic.....! Those posters, who made their dreadful jokes and comments, so soon after the event, clearly have issues they need to deal with. Again, I find these posters far , far more offensive and ignorant with their postings than someone (Vulture)................. who calls two particular posters (uncle C and a.n.other) sad little girls.................a comment I thought was richly deserved after reading just a few of their postings. The follow ups by Vulture were merely in response to Uncle C,s reply...........and again I completely agree with Vulture, and understand why he replied as he did.
As to some of our other Moderators.......Lord Bracknell..........very good, ........far too left-wing for me though...........but does have a tendency to lead this board..........I,m sure if he joined the BNP, then probably most of NSC would follow him, like sheep. El Presidente........always very humourous in his replies............but beware of the grinning tiger.
In fine, as I said earlier, overall I think they do a good job, but I seriously disagree with how they perceive wrongdoing. However, if this board has Moderators who wish to run with the Hare and the hounds, it will obviously lead to conflict in the end.
Moderators IMHO, should be seen, but not heard. If they wish to be constantly posting their thoughts and opinions.............IMHO............they shouldn,t be moderators.
Oh................and I think the two week banning of Vulture is wrong, disproportionate, ill-judged, unfair in comparison.............and nothing short of bullying.
