I'm not commenting on what the punishment should be.

Merely on the huffy attitude of Redknapp, which he blatantly would not be saying if it wasn't (1) his cousin and (2) a fan aiming the punch, as opposed to a player.

And I'm only saying that I can understand why he reacted as he did, and you should take that into account when assessing Redknapp's reaction

redknapp had a point.

the fan could have a knife, make an example of him.

a player would not have a knife

and EDNA a player only recently was sent to jail for a punch on the football pitch, so it does happen

And as for suggesting the guy ought to go to prison for throwing a punch at a footballer- presumably he'd advocate the same punishment for every player who throws a punch at another player too- or is that different, Jamie?

of course it is different, if you cant see that then it just goes to show the intelligence of the police in this country!
