Mine has to be a Citreon 2Cv away to Burnley in i think 1993, bloody awful 6 and a half hour hike, However we won 1-3. What smug journey on the way back though, the driver was a Burnley fan!

I would think some of the old Clifton customers will say the back of a lorry after their minibus broke down on the way to Peter Wards debut and I picked them up and put them in the back of my lorry. I was working part time for a haulage fiorm in Leatherhead at the time and used it get home on the Friday night then phoned in sicj Sat morning the governor told me to get better and not drink so much but come in with the lorry early Monday. So I jumped in it with my sons and drove to Hereford , no check on log books much in those days.

Hillman Avenger to the play off semi at Millwall. I topped up the oil a little too much before I set off and it was smoking half way up the M23

Drive by abusing
A rusty old ford fiesta down to Gillingham which lost most of its exhaust somewhere on the way.

I had an old Singer Gazelle which broke down on the way from Guildford near the Bull just outside Henfield and had to get a cab to The Goldstone for a night game against Palace.

We went to Bolton, and my mate broke the stereo at about Bolney.
The car was fine but the journey wasn't.

A coach travelling to Chesterfield that had it's back window removed courtesy of a passing West Ham fan with his handy hatchet at Scratchwood Services.

Used to drive to Gillingham in an old Metro with my brother. I think it was actually my dads, anyway the engine mounts were rusted away and when we went over a bump too fast there'd be a massive grinding noise as it rubbed and bounced against the chassis...

And Boxing Day away at Norwich (1-0 Sidwell) my mate and I borrowed my aunt's Escort. The horn would intermittently get stuck on so we ended up driving back through Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex etc. parping non-stop...

A rusty mini-bus. That broke down in Hyde en route to Manchester for the F.A Cup Semi-Final 2002.

My god.

An old Austin Maestro called Rosie. Took me to Birmingham for an away match. Overtook the team coach going up a hill and later found out it had broken down. Crossed my mind I should have stopped and offered them a lift.

A Brown Fiat `127` 5 Speed Super Limited Edition. 4 of us from Hove to Rochdale and back, via Focus DIY store in Chester I think during the protest years.
Oil rings blew on Handcross Hill and we produced glorious black smoke for the whole journey. Those were the days......
