It certainly feels like that but looking on the bright side: we haven't seen Andone yet, Ali J looks more than capable of playing up the middle, we do actually have two young reserve team players who appear to know where the goal is AND surely Locadia, whose confidence is utterly shot, can be nurtured back to actually look like a footballer...

I hope your right but I doubt there r many teams out there that have spent £16 mill and 9 months later haven’t a clue if he’s any good or not, on last display I fear the worse

Everything he did last night was forgiveable and makes me wonder if a sports psychologist might help him.
But conceding the free kick at the end was reckless.
Hughton will be wary of playing him again .

In fairness to the club and recruitment team, with the large number of incoming players this year, realistically 2 or 3 just won't cut it or work out. Suttner, Schelotto, and in all likelihood Locadia. No genuine fans wants new players to fail but it's almost inevitable a few just won't work out. In my view he's had long enough now to have made an impact, and if it means we take a loss on him in January then so be it. No recriminations, just an unfortunate signing.

He's played 47 mins in the Prem. Good to see nobody is jumping to conclusions.
This season right ?

I'm sure he played 45 Vs palace last season. I remember that game vividly as he couldn't be bothered to jog back and they crossed it in for zahas headed goal. That's the moment I fully lost confidence in him.

Strange strange player though. Even in that game he assisted the goal. He has talent but I just don't know if he can be coached into a good player. He doesn't seem to have a footballing brain.

It's all about desire, creativity, sharpness, generally showing ANY kind of spark. 47 minutes, spread across several games, is a reasonable amount of time to conclude the player is lacking in all of these. Of course, there will always be those who maintain that the player needs a run of games before they reach the same inevitable conclusion. But sadly that's a luxury we can ill-afford.

Honestly, I thought he made some good runs, found space, drew defenders away from Muzza and offered something which had been missing. Granted he fell over the ball and had some misplaced passes.. who didnt tonight.. but I still think he has something to work with.

My goodness, I really hope you are right but my gut feeling is that we might be trying to polish a turd.

In a professional multi-billion pound environment where marginal gains are everything then the club should get the lad on the couch. Perhaps his £16m price tag and our expectation is weighing heavy on him. One thing's for sure, the poor bloke's confidence is shot and whatever he's asking his feet to do - they won't do it.

He was on long enough last night to make a difference - his foul at the end nearly cost us a point

His header at the end (remarkable save) secured us a corner which won us the point.

It was a respectable attempt at goal.
I’m sure you were concerned about the rest of his performance though.
Locadia has been battered on nsc and understandably so imho, not that it helps.
What I don’t get is why we let hemed go out on loan . He is a limited player but has proved he can make a positive difference at this level.
Instead of hemed we have locadia as our impact sub. If ever a player needed to go out on loan it’s locadia.
FWIW I don’t think locadia is necessarily a bad player. But the way he is being used at the moment is making it worse for everybody.
He should have gone out on loan, playing at a less demanding level. Hemed should have been coming on last night

I've tried to withhold judgement and convince myself that he just needs game time, but he's had plenty long enough here now to show something to CH that he's worth it...and he's clearly failed. Tonight was a new nadir. A presentable opportunity to at least get an effort on goal, and he trips over the ball. Then we're under the cosh having just equalised, he receives the ball deep in our half, passes it straight to a stripe, then compounds it by running after him and fouling him just outside the box. Another night Ward-Prowse pings that in, but this time we got away with it.

I've had it now. Let him pursue his shit YouTube rapping career, and concentrate on collecting more elaborate tattoos. Its another Dutch duffer who needs to be farmed out. No matter how thorough your scouting and recruitment team is, there's inevitably always one of these herberts waiting in the wings that rocks up and stinks the place out - he's not the first, he won't be the last. Sometimes it just doesn't pan out, and this is one of them. Unfortunately a very expensive bollock has been dropped, it would appear we now have our very own van Wolfswinkle.

Cut losses, get rid.

Have to say I agree with all of this. He’s had long enough and most seriously all he seems to show is a bad attitude. Reminds me of Kemy Agustien.

I know some on heat will say be loyal to the team and give him time. I don’t usually criticise our players. However this looks like a big signing failure at a time when we have been spoilt with successes. I really hope Andone is a success as we will need him.

Colin Hawkins at home against Stockport remains the worst sub performance. Subbed on in the 63rd minute, conceded a penalty and sent off by the 65th. Specialist.

Yep, was quite encouraged by Ali J last night and Andone's experience (and the level at which it was obtained) will prove to much more beneficial than Locadia's.
