Worst England defeat ever?

I'm 38 this year. I have never experienced an England defeat so pathetic and seismic in my lifetime. Anyone care to disagree?

Before I was born, but the 1-0 defeat to the USA must have been worse - they were part-timers. But this is the worst in my lifetime - the players should feel thoroughly ashamed

Can't remember a worse one in my lifetime at tournament level...that said it has been proved by Leicester Albion and now Iceland that team spirit is the most important ingredient...Obviously Iceland had a bit of ability and their goals were decent despite the defending.

Perhaps we could do better with League 1 and Championship players for the interim.

Worst result ever but there have been so many abject performances over the last 3 or 4 decades difficult to say for sure.

I woz there for that one! At least we had a decent team then even if the result went against us.

Poland came third in the eventual tournament, and England threw everything at them that night. I don't think it compares really.

I actually burst out laughing a couple of times tonight. One was that Harry Kane effort.
Also that must be the worst game an England captain has ever put in as well.
