I still have nightmares about a Suzuki Vitara, I had about 8 years ago, snails used to laugh as they went past

I once bought my wife a Daf 33 which was driven by a rubber belt ( no really), absolute heap of shite and my wife has STILL not forgiven me for buying her a car that made a 2cv seem fast and luxurious

same colour too

That's my dream car!!! No, seriously, I really want one!!!
My wife did as well, we got rid after about two months, maybe ours was the runt of the litter or something and they might be better now!!!! although I wouldn't risk it

That would have to be the FSO I bought my wife (that will teah her!).

It came with Del-boy type automatic windows.

My first car was a Opel Kadette. Basically a German Vauxhall Astra (old style). Engine packed up after 3 months, bought a re-conditioned engine and that caught fire after 8 months. Bastards !!!

About 15 years ago, a Fiat Uno, it was constantly breaking down with major faults, costing £100s each time, I should have just pushed it off Beachy Head as soon as I bought it, would have saved me a packet.

To rub salt into the wound it had a 'Car of the Year' sticker in the back window.

One of these. Same colour too.

When it went, it went like shit off a greased shovel. However, I have never owned a car that went wrong so regularly and so expensively!

Vauxhall Frontera diesel - owned for six weeks, absolutely woeful, the most underpowered vehicle I have ever driven, couldn't wait to get rid.

And when you consider I have owned a Yugo, a Morris Marina and a Ford Anglia that will tell you how bad it was.

I know someone that had a DAF, and insisted it was built by BMW. Any thruth in that?

Peugeot 306 I bought 10 years ago. Totally unreliable, fuel injection problems, an immobiliser with a mind of its own that left me stranded in Gillingham, the list and expense was endless. The day I traded it in was one of the happiest of my life.

Not that I'm aware of, they were a Dutch company that got taken over by Volvo which improved the quality control if not the cars. Although having done a quick google search there does appear to have been a BMW connection for a while but the article was much too dull to read so I gave up.

Think it was just the car that got taken over, the repmobile Volvo S40 was/is? built in their factory.

The truck and bus bits are still going, and the van bit ended up as the D in LDV of the trophy fame.

Someone in work STILL has a DAF 66, he says its a classic but the zero restoration work he's done on it makes us think he's just a nutter.
