Worst away visit

Over there
What's the worst town, city, village you've visited on your away excursions. Wether it be lack of pubs, shops or facilities or generally rough as f***?
There have been many over the years but my stand out horror away days are Brentford- 2 successive seasons of losing 5-0 and bugger all to do other than a few moth eaten pubs. wallsall, hammered them the entire game, lost 1-0 and possibly the drabbest place ever. And lastly the f.a cup trip to Canvey Island just an awful, awful place, got attacked by west ham mob and the end of poor Liam Bradys tenure under a horrific regime.

Rochdale 1972 - shitehole of a ground, slippery mud terraces and was sick as a dog all the way home after eating a rancid snack shop pork pie.

But we did win 2-1 and got promoted a few days later.

Nestling in green nowhere
In no particular order:

Tranmere
Gillingham (I know, I know..still a f***ing dump)
Burnley
Sheffield
Middlesbrough

There are loads but these were the ones that popped into my head first.

Oh. Nearly forgot Colchester.

Soulless anonymous flat pack "community" stadium that's nowhere near any community stuck in the middle of nowhere by the A12.

What a f***ing drab visit that was.

It was a slag heap their terraces, like black mud. At least it did not rain too hard during the game. Trouble was it rained on the way upo and down and every time it rained hard our van stopped and we did not get home until four o'clock in Sunday afternoon. But beer was on sale in their ground.

But Priestfield was the worst for an away match at Gillingham. I swore I would never go there again ! Bristol City was poor too. Lack of atmosphere and a really boring 0-0 draw.

The dull part of the south coast
Hull this season was beyond a joke in terms of how grim it was. Honourable mentions also go to Coventry, Luton, Oldham and Gillingham

Why? It was a beautiful, sunny day.We walked through a lovely leafy park ,full of guests on the Jeremy Kyle show, back to Paragon station shining in late afternoon sunshine. And, then watched a matinee performance of fisticuffs provided for free by the local residents.

Brighton factually.....
Wigan Ath @ Springfield Park - the away end was a mud hill with a cow shed about 10ft long for when it rained plonked on the top of the hill.
Oldham Ath - horrible Town, walk to the stadium, just grim.
Crewe Alex - 4-0 after what seemed like half an hour and the stewards would not let us out to go the pub.

Thats my top 3
