Leeds road was pretty shit, can’t remember us ever winning there either.
That Leeds lower tier is quite special. You have to wait for everyone else to get out before you do.

I can't let Gillingham get away without a mention. Rubbish town to visit, a pain in the arse to get to, and a shoddy little stadium. The amusing irony is that, all those years after their chairman so gleefully accepted, what was it, half a million quid? to host us, his club is still playing home games in front of a wonky, exposed scaffold stand which could almost have been lifted straight off the running track at Withdean. Karmic joy indeed.
The old uncovered terrace at Plymouth Argyle.
There remains one happy memory of clinching promotion there in 2002 but the rest - rocks thrown from Argyle fans into the ground from the outside, having to walk through a very dodgy park where their hooligan crew, Central Element, always seemed to be laying in wait for any scarfers to punch (cowards to do that) and the feeling that you've travelled so far you feel like you're in a different time zone (Carlisle never felt like that strangely for some reason. Faster trains?). Summed up the bleak facilities for away fans for so long.
They've done their ground up and it looks really nice with all the green seats. Would be a great FA Cup draw this season!
Yes it would, I hope every year.
The trouble in the park still exists but mainly for when Exeter or either Bristol clubs visit, although some others too.
Rocks no longer thrown into the ground.
New main stand now, Home Park is a very decent ground, very good away end..
Strange one that. They announced the rebuilding of the Mayflower grandstand to quite some fanfare, and at what appears to be considerable expense for a club at their level, only to end up with a new stand that still has supporting pillars blocking the views from some seats, where the roof doesn't cover the seats at the front, and which somehow manages to look pretty much like the old stand, but without the terracing at the front.
Always had a soft spot for Plymouth for some reason, but the finished project does look somewhat underwhelming to me! Perhaps space or funding limited their options, but I'd have thought they'd have seized the opportunity to build something a bit more modern-looking.
(this is the new stand, in case anybody was wondering).

Well l don't think it looks too bad at all, and in keeping with the rest of their ground really. There are far far worse stands out there.

Looks like a nice stand though I agree with edna that it doesnt look very modern (not that modernity has any intrinsic value when it comes to architecture).

Surprised no mention of Exeter City, people have a point with Yeovil but at least the terrace is large and banked, Exeter is tiny, uncovered, almost flat, shocking toilets and food (improved a bit now)
Also Bristol Rovers, open, stuck down one side in a corner and a marquee behind the goal.
Also Swindon, open but seated.
Open away ends are terrible, cold, wet and no atmosphere, should be free to get in.
Well l can think of some grounds where modern stands have been built, and look so out of place alongside the remaining old fashioned architecture that remains in the stadium..
Blackpool. They were doing the end up so stuck us on the side towards the corner. I was absolutely freezing all day. It's a depressing shithole plus after the match had a terrible Italian meal in a restaurant that was packed and I had high hopes for.
The B and B was cold too. I probably will never go to Blackpool ever again.
