respect to you for going

We have a family (paddy's side) villa in Turkey (which has not been stayed in since and will not be until there is justice for Kev and Chris) and we went to Istanbul having spent plenty of time there on holiday and even have been to the Ali Sami Yen on a match day before. I regret what it did to us to this day. From the drinking in Taksim Sqr to that night when all hell broke loose to the freaking stupid game where they wouldn't even give a minute silence. We'll not go back to that godforsaken country until there is justice.

The atmosphere in the Ali Sami was odd but the atmosphere at the return fixture at ER was the weirdest I have ever experienced. And I hope to God it is never repeated for anyone anywhere.

Palace 5 nil anyone?

For all round shit experience type day, Kiddieminster away. A vietnamese that you had to cook yourself, Trains doing ten miles an hour all the way home and Clive's arse all the way from Kings X to Batlle in the free taxi from Virgin. Also failing to find any sort of strippers in a place the size of Birmingham.

Yep, and we spent most of the game taking the piss out of "FATTY" Mick Channon:lolol: That was the ONLY highlight of the day.

He's fat, he's round, his arse is on the ground, Mick Channon, Mick Channon :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

... as he was repeatedly caught offside lumbering back after our goal kick's got hoofed back from the half way line.... vile game though...

That's the most humiliating but it was still alright as at last we were playing palace.

Worst experience for me has to be the Luton game last season. Left work in time to get a train across London with no promise of one back, had one can of Fosters on the Thameslink, froze my ass off in the snow and ice and could not believe my eyes when the team ran out as I queued for an exceptionally dodgy burger. Worst ever.

Stoke for me as well. I didn't go to our last game there because I was so fed up the previous time. It must be one of the coldest places in Britain to go to with it's open corners of the stands. Zamora knew he was on his way so didn't bother putting any effort into the game and only Rougier managed a single shot (which went towards the corner flag)

The other one that sticks in my mind was the replay at Stamford Bridge in the FA cup in 1967. I went straight from work on the Seagull special to find that Docherty had ordered the gates to be shut early. There were thousands of Brighton fans locked out.

Was no one ever charged over the murders? Are there still campaigns to try and get some progress with the investigation or has the investigation been closed?

The investigation is still 'open' in the loosest sense of the word.

Ali Umit Demir was charged with the murders and found guilty, he was sentenced to fifteen years in prison in 2002.

In 2003 he appealed and won his appeal because of a change in Turkish law. They now say blood of just one rather than both was on his knife. Apparently it's OK to murder one person in Turkey, but you go to prison if you kill two.

Every so often they bring it back to court for something or other though nothing actually gets done and no progress is ever made.

Starry, not belittling the tragic situation one bit, but i'm always very synical in a situation like this, The British government leaning on some third world corrupt police force. A speedy arrest usually follows but I believe its usually some bum with evedence planted on him. A murder in Turkey, a rape in Thailand etc I question what the police actually do when a tourist is the victim
