96/97 and 97/98 were truly awful times ... I think the 2-0 defeat at Rochdale is one of the worst performances I've seen .. so bad a few of us felt it necessary to kick and bang the side of the team bus as it left for home

Does anyone remember at Gillingham when we were 0-4 down at half time? Can't remember who it was against, but it's the only time I've ever left before the 2nd half's started (bad fan)

The 4-0 home defeat to Darlington in 1998/99 takes some beating

I've been watching the Albion for 44 years and I'm pretty confident that I'll never see a performance as bad as that if I watch them for another 44.

That was a nadir, for sure. And to make it worse, didn't ex-Palarse striker Marco Gabbiadini score a hat-trick?

Mind you, most games during that first season at Gillingham were shocking. It was far worse than the last season at the Goldstone. Only a truly atrocious Donny Rovers prevented us from relegation to the Conference.

worst ever? They obviously weren't at one game in particular
Boxing day 2005 i think .Yeovil town beat us 3-0 bloody dreadful and absolutely freezing. Funny what stays on your mind. Compared to that this season has poetry in motion.

Yes I remember this one too! 3-1 it ended , absoluty awful game under Wilkins, Carpenter's last game that was. That game that started the slump into the relegation fight.

I'd have to say the 9man against Walsall, simply the worst game of football I've ever seen, we put about 60 crosses into the box and failed miserably every time to create a chance, but we had no players what so ever with any sort of ability to do anything else.

Was against Colchester. We came back & drew 4-4. You must have felt a plank when you got back home!

Wasn't that, we definitely lost as I was watching scores in the pub, would've tried to get back in if we scored a few goals. Think it must be the darlo game people are talking about, possibly 0-3 at half time then?

"We didn't commit, we didn't have an idea, we didn't try to go forward, we didn't control the ball, we didn't pass it at the right time, we didn't move, we didn't play at all."
