Harding (whose contract was up, remember, it's not like we chose to sell him) came in for some stick on here, he was not my idea of a 'crown jewel', however much potential he has. We still stand to make, potentially, a lot of money on him.
We couldn't possibly deny Virgs a chance like this, and the money is good, even given his importance to us.
Time was, clubs like us relied on selling talent to big clubs and nobody batted an eyelid, it's only really post-Bosman that it's become less frequent. As said earlier in this thread, McGhee seems to know what he's doing. I don't doubt that he'll be aware of the need for, and likely replacements for, positions he views as short.
Let's trust him shall we? There'll be plenty of time for worrying between August and May anyway....
