I sent that to a mate in Canada. I had to explain to him what had happened, and he still didn't get it. Because it simply makes no sense to a rational person.

The only analogy I can think of is a kiddy taunting a monkey in a cage at a zoo (this sort of shit used to happen in the 60s and 70s) then getting a finger bitten off.

But little kiddies know nothing and (fortunately) most have the guidance and protection of a parent.

Can you imagine living next door to someone who is so f***ed up they think they can do this sort of shit and get away with it? And probably have several kids they are neglecting to teach how to behave sensibly?

I'm a big fan of education but, in extremis, when the 'parent' is going to bring nothing but perverse indoctrination and neglect into a child's life, more rigorous measures should be made available. (Yes, this includes cutting the goolies off).
