Agreed, the gap has opened so wide in the intervening period. The rest of the world has got very serious about T20, whilst we haven't.
Honestly though, I'm playing devils advocate because I see no way we can get serious about it without affecting Test cricket. I certainly don't want a situation where we're playing a bunch of mercenaries like the Windies.
