Click-bait for the easily offended.

Blogger will now get millions of hits, by putting a controversial spin ,on the fact that most people, are ignorant of the correct names for hundreds of Asian dishes.

I dare say the culture war is good for business unfortunately

Exactly this- in a media world dominated by social media 'clicks' these kind of stories are golden

It was an Indian person, and they don't want it banned, but to stop labelling all Indian food curry.

Well imagine that.

Beyond the click-baity strap line they decided to use on Insta (very successfully given the number of views) is an entirely sensible point that an Indian food lover has every right to make. Even more right, in fact, than Jay Rayner has to complain about Fat Boy Slim "curating" the music in a Brighton restaurant.

But of course, said click-baity strapline is manna from heaven for others looking for clicks on the back of it, and absolute GOLD to the OP on his daily trawl for outrage, snowflakery and left-tardism. "IT SAID THE WORD CANCEL! THEY'RE GOING TO CANCEL MY CURRY! WILL I HAVE TO SPEAK FOREIGN NOW WHEN I WANT A PRAWN MADRAS? WHAT IF THESE FUNNY BROWN PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND ME?"

Rick Stein covered this really well in his India series.

He asked the question to everyone he met and the Indians couldn't agree what "curry" was or where the word originated from.

The menu in most "Indian" restaurants is Bangladeshi food anyway. There's lots of ignorance around this subject, but that is life. You could pick literally any type of food and most people wouldn't have a clue about it.

Not sure its about the world going mad as much as it is about successful marketing. How many hits on his blog do you think this guy got today compared to yesterday?

India is a subcontinent so each different region has different styles of food. Like saying going for a European. (Reminds me of 2nd best comedy session ever “going for an English”

Most (87% according to bbc) ‘Indian’ restaurants are actually run by those of Bangladeshi heritage

Yep, similar applies to ‘Chinese’ food in England. Doesn’t bear much resemblance to the real thing.

These idiots banging on about curry and colonies make my piss boil.
They haven't mentioned Tea or Coffee though have they, there is an argument about the history of Tea and Coffee and colonisation, a weak argument but we were a bit naughty in the past in the fields and plantations.
