27* players have played in a World Cup winning team whilst playing their club football for an English team. The 27 represent a total of 14 teams. No Googling, but I'll give you one player and one team to get you going:

Alexis Mac Allister played for Brighton & Hove Albion and Argentina in 2022.

26 players and 13 clubs to go.

One guess per post please.

*Edited because I missed one.

Solution
Jack Charlton was Leeds.
George Cohen - Fulham

(Still a couple of low-hanging fruit left from the 1966 team)
Arsenal: Petit, Vieira, Ozil, Fabregas, Mertesacker
Aston Villa: Martinez,
Blackpool: Ball,
Brighton: Mac Allister,
Chelsea: Le Bouef, Giroud, Schurrle, Kante,
Everton: Wilson,
Fulham: Coen,
Leeds: J Charlton,
Leicester: Banks,
Liverpool: Hunt, Torres,
Man U: R Charlton, Stiles, Pogba,
Spurs: Lloris, Romero
West Ham: Moore, Hurst, Peters.

One player and one club left.
With Pevenseagull's addition of Alvarez and Man City, everyone has been said. (Although I spelled George Cohen like Ethan and Joel by mistake).

Martin Peters West ham.
Surely all of the 1966 team would qualify? Or did any of them play for a team outside of England?
All of the boys of 66 have now been named. The only dodgy bit was remembering that Alan Ball moved from Blackpool to Everton after the World Cup.

Does Hoyte at Spuds count? I know he got a medal, but I have no idea if he kicked a ball during the thing?

Do you mean Juan Foyth? He didn't play in the Final and he doesn't play for Tottenham anymore. He signed permanently for Villareal in June last year. So he doesn't fulfil either of the criteria and that isn't his name.
