True, but you would expect that, with the English football infrastructure, good young players would work their way up the pecking order.

The reality is that no Premier League manager, with the exception of Pochettino, will gamble on young English talent and give them a run.

Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford were fairly young when given a run albeit due to injuries at the time.

All I am going to add to this thread is... Why the hell have the Under-17s had the Euros and World Cups within 5 months of each other... Euros 3rd - 19th May 2017...

Perhaps young lads and parents need to think before signing for Chelsea or Manchester City purely for the money. Better to stay with a home town club and in the long run have better opportunities. Possibly.

How many do the 2 clubs mentioned have on their books and how many out on loan?
