Ronaldo will be pissed off. Probably deserved after his recent petulant behaviour for club and country.
Good. I have said before I have admirEd his professionalism and dedication and given him the benefit of doubt but these past few months he just shown himself to be a selfish prick who isn’t able to handle his diminishing influence and attraction. Messi on the other hand………

Best World Cup ever, best final ever, best player ever lifts the world cup

You can't ask for more than that

Oh and I put 400 sobs on Argentina at 11/2, happy days
Agree. Favourite moments were the roller coaster last day of the Japan, German, Spain and Costa Rica group, Argentina Holland 2-2 and today.

It was fkn good.

Took me a while to warm to the games, but we saw ‘giants’ losing and getting knocked out early doors, wonderfully creative football from Argentina and Brazil, Mitoma/Caicedo/Mac A were brilliant and the best team by far won the thing.

Definitely a WC to remember.

hope that ends all the Messi and Ronaldo debates once and for all. Messi is, was, and will always be better than Ronaldo

As Potter would say…’we were close, we’ll take the positives from that and go again’ (or something)
Deschamps today showed what a top manager does, early changes, system changes and keep changing to try and find something to turn tide. Got lucky with the 1st pen, but Deschamp was proactive.

Scaloni went full Chris Hughton, winning and cruising so take off best attacking players to try and defend lead, handing initiative.

Potter would be far more proactive than Southgate imho, whose in game management is poor and reactive. I hope he or Smug is lined up post Euro 24.

Don’t forget Estupinan who also had a good WC.

There were people here during this WC who said they didn’t get the Messi thing and loathed commentators/pundits in a Messi wankfest.

Obviously didn’t watch Barca in the La Liga and CL for 15 years.
It's perfectly possible to simultaneously agree that Messi is a generational talent, with an unparalleled record and is leading contender for greatest of all time, but also hold the view it gets a bit wearing that the commentators need a change of underwear every time he touches the ball

None of our players had a bad WC. Lamptey held his own in a pretty poor Ghana side. Mitoma was excellent and unlucky not to get a start. Tross was one of better players in a piss poor Belgium effort. All 3 Equador lads did their nation proud and MacArgie was the icing.

Blooms bank manager also had an excellent WC!

The only thing to defend Ronaldo, is that Argentina have generally been a better team than Portugal over the same period.

Can only imagine what Mackie’s success has done for the lads back home, if we feel like we do as fans, how proud RDZ and the boys must be to be team mates with the first BHA player to ever be a WC winner - the stuff dreams are made off.

He’s been a truly brilliant footballer for the best part of 20 years, possibly the greatest ever and in this WC he been a genius matador running games for fun. Think Vicente, but up two levels and without the injuries.

Living history, we’ve been watching the best in real-time.

The commentators and pundits, for once, called this right.

Fair play to Qatar, after all the homophobia and clamping down on the rainbow, putting Messi in a lacy Ann Summers nightie at the end was the campest thing I’ve ever seen at a World Cup
