World Cup Stadiums

What with all these big cities being linked to holding games for our world cup bid, how come Brighton has not been mentioned, okay Falmer is not built yet, and won't be as big in terms of capacity for attendance figures but has anyone else wished we may have been mentioned or even more just considered...
Something to ponder or not...
Have we been considered behind closed doors as a potential candidate?

Apologies if a thread on this has already cropped up, hadn't seen anything.

They have already picked a shortlist of stadiums they will use if we are successful in our bid

Venues
A total of fifteen stadia from twelve cities will be proposed to FIFA, with the final decision made on which will host matches made by the football's governing body in 2013, should England's bid be successful when FIFA pick the host country in December 2010. Three stadia will be forwarded from London: Wembley Stadium, Arsenal's Emirates Stadium and either the Olympic Stadium or Tottenham's yet-to-be-built new ground. Tottenham's new stadium is scheduled to be completed some time before the World Cup, but its development timetable does not synchronise with the World Cup selection procedure and therefore may not be in an adequate state by the time that FIFA announces its final selection in 2013. In contrast, the Olympic Stadium will be ready by 2012 at the latest for the Olympic games; but, here, the question that remains concerns its use after 2012: the stadium may be reduced to a capacity of 25,000, which would be unacceptable for a World Cup tournament game. Such a decision has yet to be made and is, furthermore, beyond the control of the England bid committee, and so both stadia have been nominated so that either one or the other may be selected by 2013 depending on how development proceeds until then. It has not been made clear at this point which stadium would be preferred, or even whether that decision will be left solely to FIFA, if both stadia are viable candidates by 2013.

The other stadia that have been nominated are Sunderland's Stadium of Light, Birmingham's Villa Park, the new Nottingham Forest stadium, Elland Road in Leeds, Sheffield's Hillsborough Stadium, St James' Park in Newcastle, the new Ashton Vale stadium in Bristol, Plymouth's Home Park, Old Trafford and the City of Manchester Stadium in Manchester, and either the existing Anfield or the proposed Stanley Park Stadium. In the latter case of either Anfield or Stanley Park Stadium, the bid committee determined that the current Anfield stadium would be, with minor improvements, an acceptable candidate stadium for World Cup games. However, since Liverpool F.C. have plans to build a new stadium, the bid committee have specified that if by 2013, which is when FIFA will make a final decision on the stadia to host World Cup games, the new stadium is acceptable to FIFA, they would have the option to select the new stadium, or else the existing stadium.

It should be noted that many of the stadia selected will require minor modernisation in order to meet the strict requirements for holding World Cup tournament games, as is usual for all pre-existing stadia; and the stadia in Leeds, Sheffield, Milton Keynes and Plymouth in particular are all set for an increase in capacity whilst new stadiums are proposed in Nottingham and Bristol.

Could hold a few warm-up matches and a good chance of it being used as a base for one of the teams if we did host it.

Completely agree. Basing the bid on England's history of football, then including this is a joke
