I assume you (and everyone else) is aware, this isn’t like Qatar or Dubai, there will be NO booze, end of, not up for debate. It’ll be as dry as a pigeon’s lip.
Reports indicate they’re going to allow it in hotels and fanzones………and they’ll have lifted their ban before then anyway

The ‘at best’ was acknowledging that. The Saudis have 11 years to find a compromise - or at least pretend they will find one - which can then be abandoned once everyone is in situ.

Last January there was rumours of the alcohol ban being overturned, it turned out that they opened an off-license in Riyadh for diplomats only. It will happen soon I believe and will be in hotels above ground floor so it is not seen from the streets.
If you do come out here and no alcohol, find someone that lives here and/or go to games in Dammam then pop over to Bahrain afterwards.
