They do have a long tail, a couple of early wickets and you never know. We defended a small total at the same ground against South Africa remember.

Why all the pessimism? We only have to bowl them out for 17 or less and we are GUARANTEED to go through, as our net run rate would put us above both WI and India, who still have to play each other.

After such a great start it is a sin not to bat all 50 overs. If we are 10 runs short in our score those 8 balls could make all the difference.

Gayle and Pollard are always dangerous but there style of batting they are also going to give the bowlers a chance.

To early to call, couple of early wickets would be very nice.

England have to open with Swann against Gayle surely. Other teams have showed that is the way to go against Gayle. If we can get him and Pollard out relatively cheaply then I think we will win it. Although this Darren Bravo looks like he can bat a bit. Sometimes these "inbetween scores" can cause quite a bit of trouble to chasing teams, lets just hope so.

Here we go... Chris Gayle and Devon Smith at the crease... Tim Bresnan to bowl the first over...

a steady start... three singles off the over, one slightly streaky one down to third man, and one wafting play & miss from Gayle...

West Indies 3-0 (1 over)

Bresnan strays on to leg stump, Gayle clips it past fine leg, who is up in the circle, for the first boundary.

and then BLUDGEONS one back past Bresnan's grasping fingers for another four.

and a third driven through cover.
