So how does it work? 9 groups, 13 places?

Top go throu, and then best 2nd place? or playoffs?

The group winners go through (9)
Then the 8 best runners up go into a play-off and the winners of them will go through (4)

I reckon the runners up in group 9 (Scotlands group) will struggle to make the play-offs as they will play 2 less games than ever one else so will probabily finish on the least amount of points out of all the 2nd place teams.

Results against the 6th team in the other groups don't count

Tough groups for all the home nations (Scotland's because they have one less team).

Croatia are obviously a threat, Ukraine and Belarus should not be taken lightly but the right manager should see us through this group. Just need the FA to deliver him.

I reckon that Northern Ireland could be in with a shout and the Republic come to think of it, difficult for Scotland and Wales. As for England, if we can get the right manager and sort out the current mess then we should be OK, if not then another humiliation may be on the cards.

that is an easy group, Croats and the Ukraine offering the only bit of resistance.

A bleeding tour of the iron curtain states. I can see us losing a few out there.

...apart from Andorra, which will presumably be played in Barcelona.
