If they win the final imagine we won’t be seeing MacAllister for a bit as will want to join the party in Argentina!

What a journey it’s been for him from the fringes of the national team to a starter throughout this competition and just kept one of the players of the tournament quiet in a World Cup semi final.

Watching on RTE in Ireland the studio contains Shay Given, Damien Duff and one timeAlbion manager Chippy Brady. Of course the principal focus was Messi and then Alvarez but Brady made a point of mentioning Alexis and his development as a key player for the team

One advantage of this WC with huge stadia, a low population and no football neighbours of note, is that somehow real supporters can grab 10,000’s tickets. The Argentinian support is vast.

Past WC’s in the knockout stages saw the disgraceful scenario of empty seats, where corporates and corrupt mates of FIFA couldn’t be arsed to turned up.

I'm confident that, even after he jets away with a world cup winner medal, trousered, he and we will still be #undertheradar because we are #littleoldbrighton.

I absolutely love it.
